My GP has increased my Prozac dosage from 20m to 40m. Having tried the first (40m) dosage, I'm wondering if I should continue or stick to 20m. If you've been through this, please give us your feedback.

Prozac is a potent SSRI (serotonin reuptaker ) so some people don't do well at the higher 40 mg dosage. Some people only need 20 mg. Also it takes a long time for Prozac to get into your system and some docs don't wait long enough before they up the dosage. It is up to your symptoms that you are having on the higher dosage. It is best to slowly be increased up to 40 mg. So let your doc know what your symptoms are. Best of luck.

I just started 20mg Prozac today & my doctor always starts me on extremely low doses of new mess for the first week so Im guessing 20mg is very low.

I would recommend upping to 40mg if you haven't noticed improvement with just 20.

40 mg isn't an especially high dose, you can dose it up to 80 mg daily. If you aren't seeing improvements at 20 mg, even after a week or two, I'd go with the higher dose and see how you do. Prozac's cheap, you can always go back to the lower dose.
