Hi everyone, I'm Scott from NJ. I'm 45 and have had TRD now for 22 years being disabled all that time. As you can imagine I've tried tons of different meds with little success. I've had 5 courses of ECT over the years and am currently considering another. I'm reluctant to do it again I'm just tired of feeling like hell everyday. This condition has devastated my life and Ect is the only thing that helps some. Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself, tell you a little about me. My hopes of coming here are to make friends with other people who understand what this is like. I'm interested to hear how you cope day to day. So if you like to say "Hi" feel free, I'm very easy going. Well I wish you all the best and hang in there I understand. Take care.

My current meds:
Celexa 60mg
Wellbutrin 300mg
Klonopin 3 x's a day
Vyvanse 40mg
Risperdal 1mg
4.5 Low dose Naltroxone

Hi Scott, welcome.

I also find this is a great place to come for information and support.
Keep posting or responding to posts, the more active you are, the more people you will meet who understand and want to help.
People here have helped me through some dark times and I hope you get as much encouragement from this community as I have.
Hugs from:

I think the only thing that my doctor hasn't tried it ECT. ADs work for short periods of time but then it's back to depression. I get rather hopeless at times but try to keep moving forward. Some days I feel like giving up but think of my daughter and she keeps me going.

I'm sorry you are suffering too.

I have 3 kids and I suffer greatly with my depression. On the days that are horrible and I think about giving up it's my kids that keep me going. I believe they have saved my life on many occasions along with my wife which I am fortunately to have a very supportive wife. They don't make the pain go away they just keep me fighting. Find anything to fight it, it can be anything but after 22 years of this hell I'm still here. Be well.
