WARNING POSSIBLE DRUG TRIGGERS
Yeah so back in the days of my youth I was party person and also used alone about everything there was. I got a plea bargian to go too treatment. Eventually overcame my drug addictions. When my doctor prescribed me alprazolam and paroxetine I had no idea my life would become worse that was 2002 now I take 40mg paroxetine,2 mg alprazolam, 20 mg fluoxetine, and 60 mg of amphetamine salt. I feel dead I'm tolerant to it all. If I don't take it I would probably die, when I take it the side affects out weigh the benefits. I'm a drug addict |

Talk to your dr. about coming off of all of it and come up with a tapering plan. Slowly wean yourself off. Don't substitute any new substances and create new addictions during the process. Eat a good diet, plenty of water, detox teas, exercize, read positive books and watch positive tv. Don't hang around negative or people in active addiction of any kind.

I have talked to the prescribing Psychaittrist about this. He always says that it's not a good Idea. When I saw him every 3 months I asked everytime so one day he cut my dose of paroxetine by 50% and it turned out to be a bad experience I thought it was way too much and it was and am back where I was and it don't work like it used too.

Hi, I'm not exactly clear on why you're referring to yourself as a legal addict. There is a difference, you know, between your body being addicted to certain meds and you using meds to get high.

Sounds like we have the same doc. I take almost the same meds as you do. The only thing is I wasn't a drug addict growing up. I loved going to parties though. My mother said the bologna out of me by sayiny, "don't take any drugs because you might be the person like gets addicted and won't be able to stop." Then she would add "addiction runs in the family". It sure worked but now look at me. Wake up pill sleeping pill coping pill etc etc etc |

I don't agree whether the drug is legal or not all drugs in psychiatry are used as to make you feel better the same as getting high the only difference is legaly I can work because I have a script that says it's okay if I fail the drug test. I have been on both sides I see know difference the medicine is given to get you high and will have to have a higher dose to get high but the doctor controls that the only high I ever had that didn't reqiure more to achieve the same affect is LSD,and pot.

I agree with Laurie. You're being too hard on yourself. If you use your meds as prescribed and they are addictive....you are "dependent" on them. If you abuse your meds, that's considered addiction.
Regardless, addiction (if that's the case) does not make you a bad person. It's an illness. There is treatment for addiction if you want it. If your meds just aren't helping you anymore....for whatever reason, don't blame yourself. Talk to your doctor about it. Don't go cold turkey. It's dangerous. Take care. No judgment here. xo |

You know what I posted this a long time ago and now it just took off. I have a new mental health provider and so far cut 20mg aderall, 1mg zanax and tapered totally off paxil. I'm not into the dependent, addicted thing. I will say this I have never ran short and take them as prescribed by mouth. I drove medicaid transit and got up at 3:30 am to take people to methadone clinics the reason they were on SSI is because of the word dependent not addict. If you became dependent on vicoden from a doctor and then started using smack your covered. I seen a lot of people get a dirty and kicked out so I took them to a different one up to 60 miles away is the limit under medicaid only after they got kicked out of all of them they would go see Dr. Suboxone it has narcan in it if they use smack they will get very sick. So I don't agree with if you abuse your meds theory because these people abused them and then some but were still dependent you have to use it now it's more nice than addicted. We can agree to disagree and still be supportive of each other I like you.
