I started taking risperdal a week ago. I was instructed to take it night, but it keeps me awake. I switched to taking it the afternoon.

Sorry I'm late in the discussion.
Taking it earlier sounds sensible.
If you haven't already done so and the problem hasn't improved its probably worth going back to the prescriber now, you've given it time.
