I have noticed that whenever I get sick or stressed out my period comes. Like whenever I have surgery I get my period. When I had my Gallbladder out I had my period and I hadn't had my period in over a year. Same thing when I had my Gastric Bypass. I am pretty regular now that I have lost weight but still when I get sick it seems to be when she comes. I was just diagnosed with shingles and what happens I get my period. Just when I need to be resting and not having to deal with having my period wonderful Aunt Flow comes. Funny how my body reacts to that.
Do any of you have that happen? Jan

That's weird, normally it's around the other way!!
I don't know how my periods go anymore, because I've had them stopped by birth control since I was quite young, so I can't really comment on that. I guess everyone's bodies just react differently. |

Stress does that to me too sometimes. I remember reading something about that a few years back. Some women's cycles are sensitive enough that they are induced by stress and sometimes by excitement. What I mean by excitement is like starting right before you go on that vacation you've been waiting for, things like that. Also, women's cycles naturally get in sync with each other, like women who are around each other a lot eventually start their periods around the same time. How weird is that!?!?

Aahh, I am falling, and if I let myself go I'm the only one to blame. I'm safe, up high, nothing can touch me, but why do I feel this party's over? I know surgery and stress can do strange things to your cycle. The last time I had surgery (it wasn't planned) I had just started my period. They told me in the hospital not to be shocked if is stopped, which it did. Several weeks later when I went back into surgery to be sewn up, they told me not to be surprised if it started again. And it did.
And knothead is right about the vacation thing. As a teenager I worked as a maid at a resort and every woman there had Aunt Flow visiting. I remember thinking "why wouldn't you plan your beach front vacation around that time of the month?" But sure enough everytime we've gone on vacation Aunt Flow has to come with us, even if she'd been there the week before. But with shingles it may be the other way around, you may be having an outbreak because your immune system is stressed dealing with the pre-cycle hormones.
