i dont even know how to ask this but i ll try.

i have a bump in a very private place. right at the top just above everything. it was there a while ago and then it went away but now its come back. its like a little hard marble or something under the skin and its sore to touch. god this is so embarassing. ive been tested for std's since the first time it came up so i dont think it can be that. could it be related to maybe my time of the month coming up? or um... its about where theres friction when um... stuff is going on so maybe it could be from that? i would just ignore it but im worried cos i just met someone and there could be questions i cant answer.

im so embarassed. does anyone have any ideas what it could be or what i can do about it? ive been using anti-septic cream. im not sure if its doing anything or not though. and as for going to a doctor its hard enough even writing this here!!

Sounds like it could be a simple cyst/boil of some kind - does it come to a head of anykind? Can you see if it has a white head - if so, its probably a boil.

I would massage it like she said, and also Try holding a hot-as-you-can-stand-it washcloth full of salty water to it for a few times a day.

IF it persists, I know you probably wouldnt want to, but go see the doc. In extremely rare cases it can be something more serious.. but thats pretty rare. In most cases if you ruled out STDs its going to be a cyst or a boil.

I was going to suggest it was a cyst, too. It's happened to me, and those aren't fun. When they burst, it can be rather gross (the pus or whatever's inside comes out, along with blood), but then it'll start to heal. The hot cloth Rainbowzz suggested is a good idea; it will help it come to a head.

oh don't be depressed/ashamed--you did nothing wrong.
it's quite possibly an ingrown hair, or a cyst. the one I had was a cyst and easily taken care of in the doc's office.

unless your symptoms change, do the compresses, warm water so you don't damage delicate tissue, try not to wear jeans that are tight in that areas for obvious reasons...

it happens to women more than you think so...many don't know they have one until they have their yearly pap smear.

my boyfriend has something like that on his right testicle and got it checked out. it was just a cyst. the doc said it wasn't related to cancer and he was tested for std's and so was i and we both came back clear.

the biggest thing to look for is change. it's the same with a mole or any other mark/spot. if it stays the same, doesn't move, get bigger, harder or less hard, then you should be fine. but if it grows, gets harder or lessens in hardness or color, thats when you should worry.

it could be something as simple as an ingrown hair that pops up sometimes. i would just talk to your obgyn about it. if you have been tested for std's i wouldn't be too worried.

and never be embarrassed, thats what were here for!!

I've had a couple of those. As others have said, it's gross (and occasionally painful) when they pop, but then it heals quickly. Ditto too on the warm washcloth trick -- works on facial zits as well. :-)

I get them too hon. so does my daughter. in fact she had her first ob appt the other day and she had one. she is pregnant. the dr said to her oh that looks painful. he told her to sit in a hot tub of water and it should take care of it.

Hi,
this is nothing to be embarassed about because this could happen anywhere on the body. It does sound like an ingrown hair or cyst. Do go to the doctor if it doesn't get better. Take care

Have you had this checked? I don't mean to worry you but this could be something serious. If the lump feels warm you need to go in to the doctor immediately. My daughter is only 16 months and she has frequent MRSA (type of staff infection) in that area and it can cause large hard bumps under the skin, IF there gets to be a head on it, do not squeeze it because it could push the infection back inside and it will come back again. I say you should go get it checked but I don't believe it's an STD!

Best of luck!
