Dysmorphia

Does anybody else here struggle with being dysmorphic? Or is it just me?

I feel so, though I'm not diagnosed. I was prescribed citalopram a while ago by my GP to try help, but I didn't pick the prescription up. Has anything offered you any relief?

Yeah, they say to pretend you're confident and one day you actually will be. I also try to employ that strategy. I can't buy into it because I'm too aware I'm kidding myself. I wish I had the answers or at least something helpful to say. If you ever want to talk you can pm me. Hope you're okay. Do you have anyone you can talk to in real life?

No, nobody to talk to irl about this one. And I'm just good at pretending to be confident also. My whole life is pretending and lies. Shoulda been an actress lol. But thanks for the offer to pm, hun, it means a lot.

Celexa (or citalopram the genric brand of celexa) has been stated to be a good medicine for those suffering with BDD.
I pray it helps you... I take it for others reasons and I am grateful to the person that created it.

Rhapsody, my doc has never mention this. She just laughs and says get over it! Like it's a joke!

Thanks for mentioning this though, coz I can always go see a different doc. Like I didn't know there were meds that could help with this.

It's been a bit of a hard thing to accept...here for me, along with some OCD...sigh
