How gross is this...i got my period last week and it wasnt even a period. It was like tar...it was thick, sticky and black. Im pretty sure its just old blood but it was sooo gross and Ive never had that before. Anyone else get that yucky kinda period?

Just old blood. Tissue stuck in clots..not abnormal.
If this becomes rather heavy and/or "normal" for you, I'd recommend seeing your gyno. There are disorders in which the heavy bleeding occurs monthly, causes painful periods, painful sex, and may affect fertility. Adenomyosis, endometriosis, uterine fibroids are the most common disorders explained. Shez |

yeah its just sounds like old blood to me. Also Sometimes when your flow takes a long time to come out it goes brown or black. If your worried though see a dr.

oh no im not worried...i figured it was old blood...i just never had it before and i thought id share with the group that i had it and it was gross lol..i know..pretty pointless to share but yea...

not pointless. I was a little freaked out when my flow was all brown. I didn't know what it was. Ur post could help another woman.

Yep I get them occassionally, but the next month... watch out... extremely heavy lengthy flow.

lol i tell my husband that too maven. I will say honey arent you impressed with me? I bled 8 days (my periods last 8 days) 24 hours a day and im not passed out on the floor from blood loss...then i say ..i bet you cant do that hehe. Obvivously he thinks im nuts..which i am of course...lol
