I have a gyno appontment on Wednesday, but I just started my period... and I wear pads.
I can't wear tampons because I have a lot of pain down there and it hurts to use them.

My question is: will the gyno still see me if I am on my period and wear pads? Won't it be all... messy? (sorry if TMI)

I suggest you rebook the appt. for that reason. Make sure it will be when you don't have your period. It will difficult to do an accutate pap smear and visuallly see well if you're on your period. Good luck

Be sure you tell your Gyn about the pain though.

Well I am going because I have been to the hospital twice... exactly 7 days apart.
And they referred me to the gyno.
Should I just call and say I am having my period and need to reschedule?
Or keep the appt so I can talk about stuff and just them then?

My guess is that if you have been to the hospital about gyno issues, it might be a good idea for you to go to the appointment....if they need you to reschedule to do any tests.....let them tell you......or you could call the office & have them ask the gyno if they need you to reschedule.....otherwise, it might just be a good idea to go & discuss what you have been having problems with........you can always come back again for any other tests they need to do....would't worry about it too much in the initial appointment

My gyno still does it. They prefer not to but they have never made it a big deal. 2 weeks ago I went to the gyno because I was having spotting and pain and they wanted to do an exam BECAUSE I was bleeding. Talk to them about it and they can give you a definitive answer.

Hi Miracle1986,

Experienced gyno's can usually work around the bleeding. It may not be fun or pretty, but is it ever?? lol! Personally, I would advise you to keep your appointment with the gyno. They need to see the problem for themselves, rather than go by a vague description of the problem. If the gyno cannot work around the bleeding, they will advise you on what to do.

Just my opinion.. Best wishes to you! Hope that your questions are answered and problems get resolved very soon.

I would reschedule. Not only might the blood make seeing things more difficult, but if they have to do any examination of your breasts, it could make things more uncomfortable for you. PMS can make your breasts tender, and for your own comfort, it is not a good time to have a breast exam.

I am sorry that you have been diagnosed with that, I think my Mom is suffering with this also. I think there is a medication that you can use to help this condition. I hope that you can find a good result bearing treatment plan.
