Went to yearly gyn appointment. Told doc the last time flew solo I bled a bit (and I was gentle). Also felt like the back of my vagina was being rubbed by sand paper then and also during the exam. He said that i had some discharge and that when the results came back ie I needed medication he woukd mail it to me. We are talking about the VA clinic here. If I got something from someone, I would have received this about 10 months ago. I know the results will take some time. Am I just worrying too much?

The test results will, in all likelihood, have the answer. Could be something, maybe not. You can worry a lot or not at all. You can worry some or not at all. How about you worry just a little? The test results will be here when they get here.

Love to you, Ms. Futz.

Thanks! Makes sense. No worrying! Thanks Notz, I will eat a mini chocolate bar in your honor. He was a good gyn but he was still a he. Was a little nervous not being totally honest about me being gay but this is what we talked about in that the other week. Comprimising our healthcare in order to get healthcare.

I'm over 50 and gyn's don't ask about birth control much anymore. But I really get pissed if I tell them I'm a lesbian and don't need birth control and they continue to ask and prompt me to use it anyway. It's almost like I have to say, "what part of lesbian do you not get!?"

I find that extremely rude and grounds for firing and finding a new gyn. None of them get sensitivity training, that's for sure. All my docs are women, very respectful and caring women. My dentist and dental hygienist are male but the sexuality issues are moot there. Still, the dental guys are pretty cool and I'm cool with that.

I hope the test results are negative or something simple to take care of.

@Notz: That made me giggle.

Having gone through this with my Mom, the best thing you can do is just keep enjoying life and hope for the best. She worried herself into a rough spot and regrets it, now that she can look back on it.

Good thoughts and hugs your way.

I think I was way to worrying too much. If it is an infection I think it it is not an STD. Was not honest because of the "don't ask, don't tell policy" of the military. Not taking any chances until that ban is lifted. But you all gave me an idea...I am going to join a gay and lesbhan group of veterans. How cool is that?

That is awesome that you are joining a gay/lesbian vets group. I hope your test results come back negative.

Should be something simple or would have gond to gdoc before now. Gdoc did not seem to concernd because other than the little bit of a discharge, he said everything else looked fine. Was feeling a little guarded yesterday because my regular gyn was out of the office plus the man issue but it passed as he knew his stuff really well. Put me at ease.

Nope. And I just remembered that test results are not given unless there is a problem. If I really want to know, I have to ask. I am not real worried. I am also drinking cran grape juice. Maybe that will clear things up if it is a small infection. Not worried anymore. Your feedback helped.

I'm glad I could help! Still, knowing for sure might be a good thing. A little phone call, maybe?

Well that was quick. Received a med packet in the mail today. Somehow I was not surprised. I have 14 tablets of Metronidazole 500mg. It says it is prescribed for bacterial or fungus infections. It also says not to take it with Lithhum. Now how lovely is that? He had access to my current med history that lists Lithium. There is no excuse for this. Doc gets a phone call tomorrow. I am going to get answers. I'll be back!

Good thing you checked that before you started taking them.

No kidding. Too much or too little lithium and it's swinging from the ceiling fan time. Think a little more yogert and crangrape juice will be in order. That and stop using that "White Diamonds" bubble bath and soap I got for Hannukah last year.

Um, a new development occured after taking this antibiotic... My sex drive came back, I am starting to think my sense of humor is funny, I rearranged my bedroom, "did" my hair which is both both labor and time intensive, I my laundry!
