They do say that Pamprin covers all symptoms. I'd give that a try.

Usually, the first couple of days are the most uncomfortable. In my opinion, the diarrhea, stomach ache, and nausea could certainly be from menses. The vomiting doesn't quite go (with my experience), but some people have a strong reflex to vomit (ie: some people even fight the urge to vomit when toothbrushing).

If your symptoms lasted more than 2 days, chances are that you had a stomach bug and it wasn't the menstruation causing the misery. Next month, see what happens, and you'll know what to expect & learn how to cope with the "fun".

Best wishes to you!

I get this too with my periods. I use ginger and/or peppermint tea to settle my stomach, the nausea, and the bowel. Yogurt with acidophilus helps the stomach and bowel too during this time. Caffeine is an irritant for the uterine lining and bowel and can cause cramping; it is good to minimize it or avoid it all together.

For the cramping, if Pamprin does not work, the GYN recommended Aleve or the generic Naproxen Sodium but is best to take with a bit of food if you can, like a bit of the yogurt or applesauce.

I'm sorry you are having this. Hope it passes soon and is the only time.

I didn't know this. I thought I was just a freak. So good to know I'm not the only one.
Thanks for this!

LOL googley!

Nope, you aren't a freak. I've known a few people that fight the urge to vomit every time they brush their teeth! A very strong, good reflex, and important one to have. But, what a pain in the arse!

Roba, is that the only time it's ever happened? I had that happen to me but only 2-3 times in my life (I'm through menopause now). An afternoon off/napping helped enormously. I think maybe one's nutrition or whatever one needs gets out of whack occasionally and/or the hormones surge, etc.

the vomiting goes with my experience. i dont usually throw up for anything, but come the first day of my period i rarely fail to do so. it's not a gag reflex or anything - just nausea build up and wham.
Thanks for this!
