What to do?

Hi, back again This might be too much info for some, but..

Yesterday I made the stupid decision to shave..you know..and now it's itching like crazy! Is there a creme or something I can put on it to make the irritation go away? Also, what is your opinion on waxing/shaving down there? I don't think I'd like waxing because I don't want to feel like a little girl by having nothing there, and shaving just plain hurts! Thanks for any help or info ladies

There is a creme that I know they carry at the beauty supply stores to help: I cannot think of the name of it to save my life. I don't know if you are in the states, but Sally's and some other places carry it in next to the waxing supplies. You have my deepest sympathies!

I've waxed for awhile now but lately has been do it at home, Nad's, works well for me and I like the privacy at home, quick, easy, still painful but brief, and the cost is MUCh less. Hair growth takes longer with waxing so not as often.

Ouch. I would think that would burn. It is going to be a long night isn't it? Don't laugh to loud but i did find relief once in a pinch with ice in a wet wash cloth.

Sounds like a good idea actually I want some way to control my..um..*cough*.."lawn", but don't want to go as drastic as waxing. Maybe a bikini trimmer?

Waxing to get a clean shape and men's bear trimmer for the lawn, if just want a close cut. Their trimmer's are cheaper than the one's sold for women, works just as well if not better.

Hmm...wonder why they're cheaper?

No idea but they even come with more accessories for different levels of length, a nice option if interested in changing things up.

You know what I've always wanted, is a shape in the middle Maybe like a heart or something. That'd be cool!

Yea I did that once and it was the last time LOL I used baby powder. it wont stop the itch because the itch is from the hair pushing up through the skin as it grows but the baby powder does leave you feeling cooler and dryer sweat and moisture wise so it wont get so irritated and rashy while the "lawn" is growing back. now I just do a light trim with a pair of small scizzors to cut down on the length but otherwise keep the rest of the "lawn" as is. no more itch no more rash.

oh that is just awful, that happened to me and i didnt know that women werent ment to shave down there.

I remember when I first shaved everything that happened ;o;

I stoped shaving everything and decided to just have a landing strip and trim the rest down there lol

I use a razor and never had a problem. well, maybe some little red bumps at times. I have always kept a "landing strip". Last week, I shaved it all off. With the razor. I think it's sexy. So does my husband. And no irritation. I used my husband shaving gel. One thing, I notice is that you don't want to shave there everyday. That's when I get some redness.

You know when you shave your legs, you usually shave against the growth? Well, if you decide to start shaving your business again, shave with the growth. It's not as close of a shave, but it isn't nearly as irritating. And yeah, definitely don't shave every day.

There is a cream called Bikini Zone. I tried it, but I'm honestly not sure it did anything.

their is this stuff called Tend Skin, you can get it at Sephora if you're in the states. I'm not sure where else though. I've never actually used it but have been wanting to try it, and have heard great things. I get ingrown hairs when I shave so I just keep trim.

here landing strip is when you shave it looks like an airport landing strip instead of all off or smaller triangle.

Hey Indie'sOK, i'm so sorry for your pain !!!!

I know what your going threw because when I shave with a razor, it happens to me too. If you push down on the razor too too hard while shaving it will get really irritated.

If you ever go to shave again, go to a drug store, or even a K-mart and pick up hair removal shaving gell called "Veet". This is a pain-free hair removal gell that works wonderfully. I use it myself, been using it for the last past 4 months, and have had no pain. All you do is rub the gell " on the lawn LOL" for 5 minutes, It comes with a plastic thing to remove the hair and gell with. Its Quick and Painless. And another good thing is, It takes a long time for the hair to grow back

Lol ! And also, Veet also only costs about 10 bucks and it lasts for like 2-3 months. Depending how much you use.

don't tell my husband but I use his beard trimmer to tame the lawn! Just this morning in fact...

it has an adjustable length top, so you dial it to the length you want (I usually pick 1, the shortest) and get to it. I've never cut myself, had razor burn from it, or cut so close I get itchy.

I really should get on of my own though - or maybe one of these days he'll figure it out and suddenly it'll become mine and he'll buy a new one!

Oh god I can't imagine using my father's hair trimmer for that purpose! He found out I used it on my legs and got upset. My LEGS!!

Has anyone ever thought of getting a heart shaped patch and everything else is gone? I hear that's the thing now LOL.
