Okay, this is kind of embarrassing for me to talk about, but oh well.
I've had this weird inner itch in my left breast for a while, but its mostly in the center. It's not an itch that can just be scratched and then its ok, but I have to press on it hard with my hand to make it go away for a few seconds, but then it comes back again. When this started happening, it would be one or two weeks before my period, and apparently that's common, so I wasn't worried. Now, it's happening all the time. Everyday. It's so bad at night, though. Now, I'm just crying because it would go away and it's driving me insane. Anyone have any idea to what this could be? __________________ I may look happy, but honestly dear, the only way I'll really smile is if you cut me ear to ear. One will make it better, one will make it stop.

I think maybe they are growing, mine itched when they grew. I would go to a dr to be sure though...

Yeah, I'd get it checked out--could be an infection or inflammation, maybe. Especially since it's making you so miserable, too!

Any swelling, redness, change in appearance of your nipple/areola, akin "puckering", or discharge from the nipple? Because not knowing if something is wrong or not brings such anxiety, I would recommend that you see your GYN and get a mammogram. A mammogram is the best diagnostic test we have at the moment, but it can still miss up to 10% of all cancers. Read about inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) not to scare yourself, but to inform yourself so that you can be very assertive with your doctor.
Please let us know what you find out and I am sorry that you are having problems with this intense itching. It must be terrible. Hugs, Laurie |

Can I ask how old you are? When I was developing my breasts itched and hurt and felt raw sometimes from about 11-13 until I was done.
When you press down, do you feel any kind of abnormality there like a lump or cyst? By itch do you mean a tingling or an itch like a bug bite? An itch like a tingling feeling or a numbness I would definitely have checked out because that can indicate something neurological. Have you been keeping track of what you are doing before or during these "episodes"? Or have you noticed anything that triggers it? Those things can be very important if it is something that requires a doctor's visit. Hope everything turns out okay! Keep us updated! |
