Since a few ladies here were questioning their breasts ~ disliking bras, running, etc. I thought I'd start a new thread to discuss the topic.
Genetics does influence our size. Being overweight or pregnant typically makes our breasts larger. Being underweight and post-pregnancy makes our breasts smaller. I was a C to D cup as a young lady. Became a triple D when pregnant ~ down to a DD while nursing my girls ~ then down to a B cup for a few years (as I was 10 lbs underweight). I'm now a C cup, and that's just fine with me ![]() ![]() All of that said, large breasts run in my family. Ya-hoo! Nursing did teach me to relax a whole lot towards my breasts, so that was a very good thing for me. It also taught me that getting accurately sized (w/ measuring tape by professionals) is crucial! A local dept store sized me a 34B, then changed to 34D a minute later ![]() ![]() Just my opinion....

I am a 40G. Yes...G. I have not seen my feet since high school. I went to get fitted and I think my chest scared the sales clerk. When I was in basic training I was a double D. I felt so small and perky. Sigh...I think I inherited my chest from my father's mother...thanks Nana. Men like to talk to them...sometimes I have to remind men that hey, I'm up here. You know sometimes they forget themselves. Love it if I am out on a date...the look of "some girls have all the luck" if they see I am with a special lady friend. My chest is really heavy...sometimes I Hate that because you know those little bras are really cute. My bras come with reinforced steel...not cute. Sorry to go on but I never get to talk about this to decent people about this. Just an occasional drunk guy who wants to pick 'em up and take 'em home-ew!...a friend bought me a shirt that says "got milk?" on it...makes a great dust rag.

![]() Ughhhh...I feel for you! 40G can't be much fun. I can imagine the eyes men get. ![]() ![]() You should've seen how men reacted when I nursed my daughters! Funny, because everything was covered up, I was comfortable. But the guys were NOT comfortable. They'd leave the room, look away & avoid conversation, etc. Kind of the opposite of what they're doing to you now. Either way, it's very weird!

I developed early, and I was pretty large for my size. I wore a C cup in the fifth grade, I was a D in high school. With each child I've gotten smaller. Well that's not accurate, they're the same size, but ... deflated. I was very slim after the twins were born and I could pack them into a C cup. I was in heaven! There was only one brand that it worked with, no under wires, no boobs in your arm pits. I stuffed them in that bra and had a nice shape.
I was so jealous of my best friend in High school, she didn't even have to wear a bra.

It's so frustrating to find a bra! I"m a DD, gentically all the women in my family are large chested, I'm okay with them until it's time to go bra shopping, then it's just frustrating as all get out, either nothing is comfterable or nothing fits right or is just plain ugly... other than the bra issue not too many complaints expect they tend to get in my way when I do yoga, even when wearing a sports bra. I am constantly talkign to my boobs askign them to please cooperate ![]() |

Not to mention I think they sew those bras with gold thread. I've had cars that cost less than a "good" bra.

I hate that none of the clothes I can afford to buy (I'm a student) come with darts to address the issue of needing extra space up top. Everything ends up being all out of shape and I can never wear something that closes up the front (buttons or zippers) as they don't have darts.

The worst part is that for some reason, some man decided that in larger size bras, there should be an underwire. By the end of the day the wire is always digging into my ribs. I even adjust the straps all day. It is so hard to find a bra with no underwire, that doesn't make your fun bags look unnatural. Even though I wear a 44 DDD, I still like a little padding, so I don't have to worry about it being cold in the office.

I've lost enough weight so I could go down a couple sizes in bras and can even get into a sports bra. I hear you QueenAccountant with the underwire; it's even better when it gets old, breaks through and decides to poke you in the flesh until you bleed! I don't do underwire if I can help it. I was smaller when I was married 20 years ago but still needed a "new" well-made bra and I remember my girlfriend and I called it my "battle bra" because it made me kind of pointy and supported so well :-)

Here's my big boob story.
Mine were a size A and I was a size 8, skinny for a 5'11" frame. Ok, then in 1998 I got implants. I never realized that men really stared and I worked with 100's of men and stare they did. I enjoyed wearing bra's that didn't ride up and filling out halters and such. Now... I have gained over 80lbs due to depression. I never knew my boobs could be so big. I now wear a 44 DD. Yikes and they are right out there. I now look for the minimizer bra's lol. |

I'm happy with my boobs. I was a late developer, and only got up to a B when i was fully grown, then i got ill and lost weight and went down to an A.

47 E here and hate them with a passion. Buying bras is sheer torture and underwire could only have been invented by a man.

I've been anywhere between 32A and a large 34B depending on my weight. But since I've lost weight this time I don't seem to have lost the boobs!! I'm quite happy with that, atm I'm wearing the 34B's still, they are too loose around the ribs really but fine cup size. I should probably go try on some 32B and C's!
I'm quite ok with the size because I've got something there but not enough to get in the way doing sport or causing pain or anything. One size bigger would be nice, but I wouldn't put myself through surgery for it. I've had enough surgeries on other stuff to know the pain isn't worth it. |

40G I hate them. They are killing my back and shoulders. Going to ask doc for a reduction. I guess guys stare but I do not pay attention anymore. Bras come from a specialty store and are around 50 bucks a pop. I do not understand women wanting big breasts. Running is no longer an option. And I can certainly relate to the shirts with no darts post.

I'm at least a 44D, maybe double-D--going to try out another new size--which I thought was because of weight gain. Part of it is, but I found out the Risperidone I take can increase boob size (in men, too!) and cause lactation (in men, too!), and I have a tiny bit of lactation going on.

No one mentioned breast cancer, or having reconstructive surgery. I had BC in 2007 and my reconstruction on my left breast was finished in Feb. 2009.
It was the hardest thing I've ever been through. Mostly because my husband became abusive and started drinking. I lived with my parents for over a year, between going back to my husband on and off. I honestly didn't think I'd make it. Thanks God for God! As far as my breasts are now I am happy with them, even though my left breast is kind of lumpy from the implant. My plastic surgeon implanted both of my breasts so they would match as much as possible. A lot of my friends tell me they wish they looked more like me (except for the scar). I'm 52 and perky as ever. I've only been with one man since having BC. It's really hard to let a man see me, though most say they don't care. The worst part of all is the depression and mania I had, and still have. But on a more positive note, years ago they had no reconstruction options at all. Women are blessed today to have that choice. I'm a 32 C, which most people tell me they wish they had mine, but... it is practically impossible to find a bra that fits right! my breasts are always either falling out or the straps don't get tight enough, or it's lose around my ribs... when I was younger and in an A cup I use to wish for bigger breasts everyday... boy do I regret that one now... not to mention that no really sells a 32 C so I can only find them online which makes trying them on first kind of hard. hahaha!
