Geez, Helen (the "perfect" girl) sounds like she has OCD, how everything has to be a certain way and in a certain order, lol

Oy, being depressed in grade school and not functioning, this really would have helped with motivation; how could I ever have been as good as Helen? Wow.

Helen - early training for a stepford wife.

Can't believe they actually produced that.

Wow you know I just watched this video again (!) and it's actually not half bad... a lot of the commentary is actually pretty spot on!

In a nutshell, I think they were trying to say, it's better to live organized. If they had left out the name calling it would be easier to watch and the underlying real message would be received better.

It was worth it to find out that your clothes stay fresh if you put them in the BACK of the closet!

actually we did grow up with this crap and still do just not in black and white and up to date slang being used., you just don't realize it because it's a lil more sneaky how the psa's are now. look at al the ads on t.v.s and certain programs. this type of stuff doens't work on us anymore, thye find new ways of implanting it into your head. people will be saying the same thing in generations to come.

I actually had the nightmare of having my college roommate (1970) be the "good" girl and me the slob; both of us raised in this tradition. However, my stepmother was not kind in how she tried to get me to be the good girl; my room could never look like that - she once pulled all my clothes out of the closet and dresser drawers onto the middle of the floor because I didn't hang something up fast enough and, for my brother, she threw all his clothes out the second story window

I hate Helen.

And why do all 50's documentaries have narrators in that "okey-doke" kind of voice?
Thanks for this!

I'm with Racee ~ I grew up with this "crap" too. But it's not all bad. It's got a pretty good message when you get right down to it.
