Hey everyone,

So i started spotting, so put in a tampon like normal and carried on with my day just thinking this was my period. The thing is its been 4 days now, and it hasn't come ive just had spotting so light I don't need a pad or a tampon or anything. This has never happened I usually have quite heavy but regular periods. Its driving me crazy now because I don't have a clue what's happening now!! I have googled it and do you think it could be implantation bleeding? I have had unprotected sex about 3-4 weeks ago, but I don't know when would be the time implantation bleeding would happen? Anyone else experienced anything like this?

I'm wondering how old you are. That might make a difference in what it means.

Payne1 has a good point. I would see a Doctor about it. So many reason's for this to happen I think it's better to get professional advice about Medical issues,I don't know if the internet is reliable about health issues. warm thoughts

Hello, thanks for your replies. I'm 18.
My period should have been and gone now but now all I have is a bit of spotting. I keep thinking it's gone then it comes back again. It was just my first conclusion since I had no period and there is every chance I could be pregnant as we have had unprotected sex. I haven't been on the pill fir months as I don't see him often, then I forgot to pick them up when I did and just told myself I'd go pick them up but never did. I just want to know whats happening x

When you resolve the immediate issue, try to find a way to get a three month supply of the Pill, ideally through a mail-order pharmacy.

Or, look into other options, i.e. birth control that is not daily but rather monthly or quarterly. Or, if your issue is that you "don't see him often" and that makes you forget, get another partner to have sex more regularly (if more than one partner, with condoms) and that way, remember. Or, use your cell phone to ring every day at the same time to remind you. Or, use Google Calendar to send you a daily reminder via email if you use GMAIL. Whatever you choose to do, be inventive, but do something. If you cannot do any of the above listed options and you still foresee having unprotected sex at irregular intervals in the future, you need to pick up a few doses of Morning After Pill and keep them at home or in your purse or wherever convenient and instantly available.

And when eventually you have your first child, get an IUD which fixes this entire problem for 5 years and you won't think about it ever. Given your forgetfulness, IUD is the best option for you. Somebody on this forum actually wears an IUD having never had children, but I do not know about that. Usually, it is recommended for women who have had children.

Im still spotting. Its like a week now. When can I take a test if my last period started on the 25th to around the 30th of jan? I'm sure my period should have been and gone by now. It's not a great time for me to get pregnant I've only been at my job since early September and have been doing so well at this company. My boyfriend is 20 and only just starting to apply to uni and wishes he'd gone at 18 like his friends did. I've applied to an open uni course too so I can start software development and get out of publishing. I have always wanted to be, and always been jealous of women with babies. I just wanted to wait a while longer! I don't know what else could be happening to me though. Thanks for your replies xx

do a pregnancy test, if you are not pregnany, get checked out, ask about getting the birth control that is injected into your arm, it is one injection and lasts for months... that is what Docs here are prescribing for young ladies.

So I was spotting until monday, when it started to get heavier almost like a normal period, but then its all stopped all together on Wednesday. I took a test kn monday morning and it wss neg (it had a tiny dot on the test line, but it was barely anything. It's so weird I have no idea what went on. I mean thats a week of spotting then like almost 3 days of more normal bleeding on the week after the period should happen? Has this ever happened to anybody? X

You need to buy another test or two. Test a couple of times.

It might have been a very early miscarriage. It might make sense to check with your doctor just in case. If it was a miscarriage they probably want to make sure that everything was cleared out.
Thanks for this!

Implantation bleeding usually occurs 3 to 5 days after intercourse. When I got pregnant I had light spotting during implantation, then I spotted again 2 weeks later which the dr said was excess uterine lining. You should see an obgyn just to be safe.

i often get a few days spotting, then a day or two break then a few heavy days before calming down to spotting then stopping again, it can often spread out over ten days or so. I know for me this is ok as there is no chance of pregnancy since my partner passed away years ago and i have stayed faithful to him since.
you have a certain amount of blood and lining to loose every period, so if you spend days just spotting, then it is logical that it will take longer than the usual week to empty your body of the whole period. think of it like two bottles, one has a pin prick hole that the water drips out of, the other has a large hole so the water pours out of it, which one empties the quickest?.. the one that pours out...it is the same with your body, the heavier your period the quicker it is over!
