I considered putting this in the SI section, but I wasn't really sure if that was the best place to bring up the subject.
I used to SI, but I haven't in 4 months, and don't have plans to start again. I think I've just started to find motivation/reasons not to. Before SI became a big problem, I used to get leg and bikini waxes professionally just because it makes things so much easier for me. Shaving is just such a hassle for me. My legs are sensitive to shaving, and I need to set aside a good amount of time to shave my bikini area, and the results aren't very long-lasting. I also am razor-bump prone all over, and believe it or not, my looks are actually pretty important to me! I've purchased two waxing kits with my own money, but have had no success with them (actually horrific experiences) I'd like to start getting my upper legs and bikini waxed again, but I have a large amount of scars on my upper-thigh, which would certainly be seen during the service. I used to try to cover the scars with makeup when I went, but for hopefully obvious reasons, it wasn't a good idea! I don't want to horrify the girl doing my service though, so I'm not sure how acceptable doing this would be? Maybe I'm just getting comfortable with myself (I do look at myself a lot in the mirror, and have been treating my scars), but I don't think they're that horrifying. They are certainly there, and certainly intentional, but I've grown to think they look fine. Bottom line: Should I avoid professional services because of my scars? How might an aesthetician respond? I know they say they see everything, but I kind of assume that's in regard to hair? If I don't act like it's a big deal, should it be fine? I don't really want to have to go my whole life without a wax because of this... |

I do not know if it is related...
I am getting laser hair removal treatments over my legs which are covered in cat scratches, some of them pretty deep, without problems. |

No, if they are professionals they won't bother if you have scars or not
