...and I really hate it. I'm sitting here trying to decide whether to rage or cry... It hasn't been this bad in a few years, but it's kicking in again. I want to run away from home and hide in my bed all at the same time. I have a stress tool I think I will take out tonight for the first time (my wife has used the "wreck-it-ralph" hands more than I have, but we bought them at my suggestion). I want to break things and cry and... break myself. for the last 3 months it has gotten worse and worse. when I was in school, I tried different meds for it, but nothing really lessened the impact. Then it just fizzled. I don't really know why the crazy swings are back. I don't like them at all. Is there anything homeopathic or naturopathic to help with it? I can't afford to wind up in the hospital every month because my cycle has me so out of whack that I lose it...

I used to feel it was hormones. When I was on my Ad, I noted, even told my dr, that wow...I realized, I get great body distortion during that time of the month. And, that alone was enough to irritate and depress me. Once I was aware that, that was the issue, my monthlies arent that bad, just am more aware.
Used to have a tougher time in marriage, because my ex would get really angry at that time, as if I could control that from happening. Hope you feel better soon Last edited by healingme4me; Jun 12, 2013 at 08:04 AM.. Reason: typo |

You could try a hormonal birth control pill, and it might lessen the severity of the mood swings. Be aware though that it could also make things worse.
Birth control pills always made me worse, but then I had the mirena IUD and had no periods for close to 5 years and that was awesome because no periods = little to no mood swings |

It is expensive without insurance, true, but, remember, it is a front-loaded one-time investment. Mirena lasts for 5-7 years (check) so you need to calculate the monthly cost first, and then you just might be pleasantly surprised. Especially since you will reap the benefits of not being moody. Also, PP might give you a sliding scale: IUD Birth Control - Mirena IUD - ParaGard IUD |

I currently have $0, and barely enough to afford my therapist. I wish I had more cash. It may make life a lot easier. ..

But since you TRULY have $0, you should call them ASAP. There is no point in your suffering - even if Mirena does not erase your period altogether (and there is a high likelihood that it would), it would make your period much lighter, and the mood issues will become lighter to follow suit. Just make sure to get Mirena, because ParaGuard makes periods heavier - a huge difference, night and day (I wore ParaGuard before I got switched to Mirena as soon as it was FDA-approved in the US - it was approved in Europe earlier). |

I'm trying to remember why my gyn said no to mirena. Insurance, I believe. Realized, that my pills are free covered by insurance. My mom had an iud implanted at one point, if I recall correctly.
Did your husband, really say that about your hands? Was that tongue in cheek? Hope you get some semblance of control over how your hormones make you feel *hug* |
