I was always sort of melancholy, but not depressed, just a really calm person, and in my job that was good.
Post 9/11 in my job working for the government, things got really nuts and in 6 months I was on very heavy doses of Welbutrin, Celexa and Trazidone. Later, I had a flat out BREAK. In two years, my marriage of 40 years failed, I lost my job, my church threw me out, and my life was completely devastated. My family is gone and have been since January 2005. I've rebuilt, am off all drugs, and am very happy. Is there any awareness that psych drugs can sometimes devastate a life? |

Hi Hala,
Welcome to Psych Central. Congratulations on putting your life back together. Psych meds can be a mixed bag. overmedication can certainly screw up somebodies life. if they are zombies and not able to attend to activities of daily living, certainly the quality of life is decreased. however, meds managed appropriately can save a life as well. you really have to have a pdoc you can trust. take care. ![]() |
