I wasn't sure where this topic went so please move if necessary.

Me and my husband want a baby but I take nasty stuff like lithium. My pdoc says that there is a specialist who works with women like me so that the woman is stable and the meds are better for baby. I never heard of this before and I have questions.

I'm assuming this service is not covered by medicaid, how much does it cost?

Do they do a good job at keeping the woman stable?

How long does it take to stabilize the woman sufficiently?

There are pdocs who specialize in working with pregnant women. It would be finding one who accepts medicaid and working with that person. You would transfer to that pdoc while you are pregnant. Your current pdoc should have recommendations for providers. Good luck.
