Whats the earliest you can take one?

First day of last cycle was 9/10
Intercourse on 9/30ish
Missed 10.10 cycle.
Took 3 tests (different times) - all neg.
Missed 11.10 cycle.

Should I take another test? Did I take the other ones too early?

Depends on the brand - check the leaflet inside the box.
I think some you can take a few days before your period is due but others from the day you missed your period and others it's best to wait a few days.
It's supposed to be best to do it first thing in the morning too.

There are other causes for missing periods though so don't worry until you know for sure but I would take another test. Good luck!

When I took pregnancy tests, they turned up positive approximately 2 weeks after I thought I became pregnant. I don't know if that is normal, but it seems like if you were pregnant, the tests should have come up positive by now.

A few times in my life I've been very stressed and my period was delayed by about 2 weeks. Also, when I've not had any body fat, I failed to get my period. So, there are other reasons you'd be late.

If you're comfortable, go to a doctor and get checked out so you can know for sure.

Yeah, I took another one and still negative, so I'm trying not to be concerned about it (i dont actually want/need a baby right now) but I'm paranoid that I am taking it too early or too late in the day, etc. I plan to take the last one (test #5) before work tomorrow morning (since i've never done any morning tests) and then i'm just not going to worry about it.

Also, my gyno has been wanting me to come in but I was trying to wait until I reached my deductible. However, that looks like it isn't going to happen - so I may just have to suck it up and pay for it out of pocket.

I feel less stressed than normal, but way more tired (i think my iron is low again) so I wonder if that could be playing into it. If I hadn't had that one night that I am just not sure about how "safe" it was I probably wouldn't care at all. Smh.

Anyways, thanks both of you for the advice!

Stress, can wreak havoc with a woman's monthly cycle. Next time, you can always go to the local pharmacy, for the morning after pill, if you aren't already on the pill. When I've been under too much stress, my period can be very, very light, almost unrecognizable.

Thanks ladies. I have taken a total of five so as far as i'm concerned - I'm not pregnant.

HealingMe4Me - you're right. I'm not sure why I didn't think to take it, as i have bought it once before, I was kind of mentally in a chaotic mess at that time though so who knows. I should probably buy one just to keep for an emergency situation (i stopped the pill because i'm not regularly active and it was unnecessary toxins).

I don't know why flo hasn't decided to come yet, but since i'm (obviously) not pregnant, i'm just gonna let it do its own thing for now. Thanks again ya'll.

tealblue, that is what I do anymore. Just wait and see. It is so much cheaper. I test once a week until I can't afford tests anymore.

If for some reason it does turn up positive, many doctors will recommend you wait until you are 3 mo along before they see you just to save money. There is not really much that can be done before that time frame except confirmation and blood work. That is the doctors around here anyway.

The change in seasons and day light savings time can sometimes affect your cycle as well. Much like horses, cats and dogs, they do not ovulate during the winter months for that reason. Us humans often have a resetting of our cycles to.

Good luck. I hope mother mature lets you know soon.

I don't trust pregancy tests, my urine is a liar.
All my tests were negative, even the one I took at 6 months after a sonar just for kicks. Idk why, my sister has the same lying type of urine so blood samples it is for us.

A false negative is much more common than a false positive. Just food for thought.

My ob/gyn, won't schedule a pregnancy check, until 9 Weeks past date of first day/last period, if you are already two missed periods, certainly is time.
Any other signs/symptoms, other than a missing period?

If the first day of your last period lasting 4 days, on a 31 day cycle, the approx day the egg is coming down would be 27th of sept, with 2-4 days before that being high chance of being pregnant. Intercourse on the 30th would mean the sperm had to survive for 3 days, which is likely. Sperm can survive for about 5 days

Some conditions make your menses irregular, birth controls pills too, it's normal to not have any eggs go down once or twice a year, so I would check with your Dr, OB

You should test on the day of your missed period, technically. Blue dye and dollar test (cheapest) can give false results, pink dye are more accurate (First Response, Early Result says up to 6 days before missed period, but it is still not close to accurate) so on the day of the missed period

Nope. No other signs. I tend to have nausea in the morning on a normal basis (i simply can't eat early in the mornings) and I actually have not had any in a while. I've gained a few pounds (its was like 8-9 but I lost a few so its ~4-5 now) and I feel actually more healthier these days. So I doubt it.

Update: Went to the doctor and he said that he would schedule me with the Gyno because if I am preg. i'd need to go there, and if i'm not preg. i'd need to go there to see why I am not cycling. He said he would go ahead and take labs for the things that the gyno would need so he tested for preg as well as TSH and Prolactin levels. Dunno about all the results but the preg one should come back tomorrow.

The nurse said there isn't any difference in the urine and blood test though. So, i'm sure it'll be negative on that at least.

UPDATE

My doctor called me back today (finally). He said that I was not pregnant, though we both kind of expected that. He said the other labs he took showed that I had high prolactin levels (which I have since found out is kind of this common secret in my family). So, he scheduled me an appointment to see the gyno and he is scheduling me to get an MRI to check to see if I have a (benign) tumor on my pituitary gland. So, at least we've got some answers now!
