Taking everyone's advice into account, I will hopefully go out bra shopping soon, after I re-measure myself. All my bras are too small, now. I was wondering, though, is there a time in your menstrual cycle that's best to measure? I've heard that at different times, your breasts can be bigger or smaller, and I don't want to waste money on an ill-fitting bra

I've never heard that but you do retain more water at the beginning. I suspect that would affect your band size more than the bust but I don't know for sure.

Moving comfort actually had a good chart posted in a dressing room of a running store about what to look for front and back and side. I've never seen another chart like that. It really is too bad their bras run so small. They seem to understand it so well.

Would you try a corset with an overbust? It would be formed to your body.

It doesn't help that often times bra sizes aren't standardized. I find a size that works for me in one brand and then another brand the same size just doesn't play nice.

Luckily I'm only a mediumish size. I truly feel for those of you with bigger chests.

Tossed mine years ago and never looked back!

I'm not a small breasted woman either!

Just another contraption designed for a man's viewing pleasure NOT a woman's comfort!

@#$%! That!

ps. I told a guy, who had the gall to question why I didn't wear one, that when he started wearing a jock strap as standard daily underwear that I'd think about wearing a bra again! ... But I lied ... I'll never put one of the @#$%! things back on ever again!
Thanks for this!

Useful for jogging or jump roping. I don't wish that on any size DD.

I don't wear a bra at home, because it's more comfortable that way. However, if I'm exercising, or wearing a dress that looks better with a bra, I won't go without.

I live by the triple S rule (swimming, sex, and sleeping = no bras).

I'm a busty girl. What I have found is the key for comfort and function is to give up on pretty bras. I now wear bras that rival any nana's, and I have never looked better in clothes.

The fact that they are nude color, wide strapped with a 5 row hook doesn't scream sexy, but they work. Now my shoulders don't hurt, the band doesn't dig in and I have a ton of support with no wire.

I couldn't go without a bra, I actually find it uncomfortable to go braless. Around the house I still like to wear a light support bra like that Ahh Bra. The only time I don't wear one is when I'm sleeping.

I saw Lady Grace mentioned it the begining of the thread. If you have a Lady Grace near you I would recommend giving them a try. They have a huge selection and very helpful staff. Good prices, too.
Thanks for this!
