If getting one of these isn't bad enough, now I have to wait a week for the results. It already feels like an eternity, and it's been 5 hours!

Hi benzenering

I hate it, too. I am sorry that you had to experience this as most all of us understand. I found some humor in your post. Thanks.

I understand about the torture, and am also sorry to hear about the wait. It is cruel, the whole process, necessary evil. Have you heard anything yet, how did it go? Hope all turns out well.

I also wanted to thank you, I put mine off and forgot about it. I appreciate the reminder to get it rescheduled. Thanks.

I hate having them, as I have had breast cancer and the wait is excruciating. I hope everything comes out okay.

Everything was OK (whew!). I hate waiting for lab results. I can understand now why women put mammograms off...but we shouldn't!

Get it done!
Thanks for this!

A necessary evil to be sure. I hate getting my boobs squashed but I do it anyway. Life has too many risks we cannot control. Going for a mammogram at least lends me some peace of mind of nothing else. Since my mom died as a result of advanced Breast Cancer I take no chances

I think the waiting for results is unnecessarily long. I don't get what the issue is, however, with the mammogram itself. I've never found them painful or uncomfortable.

I've always been curious about them.. Does it hurt when it happens?

Some pain can be involved, since the device has plastic plates that press the breasts down, so they can be X-rayed completely. But the process doesn't take much time.

When I had abnormal mammograms, I found out immediately or the next business day. I am thinking no news is good news, since normal breast results would just be sent through the mail. It is hard to wait, though, regardless.
Thanks for this!
