Anyone else had to endure this god-awful procedure?? I'm supposedly in menopause, or at least I was. I went a full year without my period but then in July of 2014 I got my period, got it again in January of 2015, and again yesterday. WHY?? I promised my Ob-Gyn that'd I call her the next time I started bleeding so I did and now I have to have yet ANOTHER pelvic ultrasound.
I cannot tell you how much I hate this procedure!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to vent somewhere and I have nowhere else to go...sorry.

I've had one done. Not exactly fun, but I just tried to numb out through the whole thing. The negative test results were worth it, especially since other doctors were trying to diagnose me off of random symptoms (even though multiple tests said that I didn't have any issues).

I just always feel so, I don't know, violated, I guess. After my annual exam or after one of these. I just feel violated and dirty. I don't know how else to explain it.
My first guess is that it stems from my CSA.
I can't imagine that anyone likes these invasions, but I wish it didn't bother me so much. I also over think about the person who has to administer the exam. I feel bad that they have to do that to anyone, let alone me. I think that they are probably disgusted at having to do "that" to this oversized flabby gross looking old lady.

Raises hand. I've done so many now, I'm ashamed to admit that I'm a pro. I know exactly how much to drink and when to get the image just right.

I hate them too. HATE!!! I have severe pelvic issues with names and lists so long I won't even start. I will say the the tv ultrasound is nothing compared to Pelvic Floor Physical therapy. I've been going weekly for 6 months. My husband doesn't get to see down there as much as doctors. It's gotten so bad its one of the reasons I came to this forum. I am starting to get really weird about it. I know its not like a rape or something so terrible, but it messes with you when it hurts so badly to be touched anywhere below the belly button and doctors do it all the time and ask what your pain level is and you can't even talk...

Sorry, guess that's what they mean by "triggers". I don't mean to derail your thread. But I can definitely empathize with all of you. TV ultrasounds are just awful.
