So.....I started my lovely woman cycle in the middle of the night Monday night. Woke up at 4am and went oops.....put in a tampon and went back to sleep. Woke up the next day to soiled sheets, great. Haven't had that happen in YEARS. Didn't feel much cramping so I thought maybe I'd be having an easy monthly. Energy was ZAPPED but I finally made myself get out of the house at 4 to get some yarn and an application at the craft store before my meeting.

My PMS symptoms have been horrible. I actually thought I might be pregnant last week, even though we use protection, because my breasts were sooo tender for days and I was getting waves of nausea. I even took a test. Anyway, back to the store.

At the meeting last night, the cramps and nausea were so bad that I left 15 minutes early just to get outside. Then the cramps got even worse. BF and I were getting food and I was fighting back tears from the pain.

We go back to his apartment and eat and then I was furiously crocheting to try and keep my mind of the pain. He had to shave his stubble, which he does in stages. So he'll do a cheek, sit, then the other cheek, sit etc. It's actually quite humorous.

SO, he gets to his upper lip and is like "Ah, pain time. It always hurts to shave the mustache."

Hmmmmm........I had to keep my mouth shut. Because here's what I'm thinking.

I have to go through pain at least once a month, sometimes twice a month if ovulation causes those sharp little zings in the ovary area. The nausea that accompanies all this is fun too.....not to mention the crazy emotions, crying at the drop of a hat and then laughing hysterically.

Oh and the price of tampons. Oh and having to change tampons. Hate it! And then Advil barely touching the pain, but its the only thing that works. Then thinking about how this monthly pain is preparation for childbirth, after growing huge in the belly area and wobbling around for 9 months, the PMS is just giving me a dose of what I'll experience should I decide to have a baby.

Yes I know.....its a right of passage.....but when I'm in the pain, I don't CARE haha.

And then he says it hurts to shave his lip. I could go on.......aaaahhhhhh!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!

Trust me -- if men were the ones to give birth -- humans would have evolved a method of painless, asexual reproduction years ago Menstrual BLECH hahaha.

They're ALL wimps, sweetie.

Hang in there -- it's only a few more days!

LOL Candy, that's hilariously true. Men are such wimps. I wish we could put every man through PMS pain just once and see how they deal with it lol Menstrual BLECH hahaha

Good luck with it, though, Ray.

I agree, men don't like to hear that stuff. They do just squirm. A month or two ago I happened to mention to my male therapist that I had been ill, with an "exploding ovary," as I called it. I feel I can tell my therapist most anything and so started telling him about this problem with my ovary that caused me severe pain and I'd had to go to the hospital for a CT scan to see if I actually had kidney stones, but they discovered a large ovarian cyst that was bleeding into my abdomenal cavity. This had happened two months in a row with intolerable pain (but they gave me vicodin the last time, which was really effective!). Anyway, my male therapist handled all this "girl talk" really well and was appropriately sympathetic and did not squirm. Yay, T! I was impressed! Good for him.

Hi selfy -

I think you said you are young - so not having a period is a concern. I'm glad they are checking you out for polycystic ovarian disease. I've heard alot about it and it can cause all kinds oh health and depession issues.

I hope you test goes well - let us know how you make out!
