Hi, guys!
I will try to make this short. About a year ago I started getting these weird hormone type symptoms. I would get hot flashes, and gradually being hot was my constant state. I was sweaty and flushed and hot all the time. Then I started noticing that I was getting more acne. I've been blessed with good skin. Even through my teenage years, I would only get one or two pimples. Now I have a lot of acne. More than I've ever had in my entire life. I'm emotional and have little to no appetite. Although, sometimes I get bad cravings and eat A LOT. I got my thyroid, cortisol and hormones tested and they all came back fine. But I know that something hormonal is going on. I'm trying out birth control hoping that will work, but I'm just frustrated. Has anyone gone through this sudden onset of hormones? And even if my hormones are in a "normal" range can I still be getting these types of symptoms? Thanks! |

Have you seen a good dermatologist? I had great skin throughout my teens! One exception, I have *always* blushed very easily. Very fair skin.
Then, in my early 20's, my skin took a 180-degree change. Things slowly progressed to the point where my skin looked constantly flushed, along with the bad acne. In my late 30's, a couple of dermatologists at Mayo Clinic looked me over under a bright light and quickly diagnosed me with "acne rosacea". I got a prescription for some antibiotics as well as an acidic cream to apply very lightly to enlarged papules. I was encouraged to switch facial washing gel to Johnson & Johnson's bar soap: Purpose. I use it twice per day, morning and night. Don't sleep with make-up on ~ ever. Check out the following link. Rosacea - Mayo Clinic Very best wishes sent to you! ![]()

When did you start taking the contraceptives? Also did you try different ones before you settle for the one with the least side effects? I am asking because I had the exact same symptoms, hot-flushes, acne, also not steady menstruation and swollen breast when I started taking contraceptives after a 3 month pause. It was my prolactine levels.
From personal experience, I would really not suggest contraceptives, they really messed my mood, I became almost robot-like. Now I try to balance my hormones with folium acid and inositol supplements. |

Yes, it is very possible to have symptoms when in the normal range.
Remember, the "normal range" is across all humans. Your own personal normal may be a bit different. If your doc says you have normal test numbers but your symptoms are out of control, find a new doc. They need to treat the patient as an individual and not a statistic.

Your symptoms point to Candida albicans, a systemic yeast infection. Your blushing is most likely "thrush." You might want to read the Huffington Post online article "Is Hidden Fungus Making You Ill?" posted Nov 17, 2011, written by Mark Hyman MD.
Good health to you! |
