I don't know what to do. I am in my 40's and had heavy bleeding every month. So I had polyps removed along with a D and C thinking that was the problem. Nope! It is back to heavy bleeding every month again!

super plus tampon and a pad at the same time will last maybe an hour or so!

so its either I take 2 iron pills a day and just bleed every month, get the MIrena (but I don't like the idea of that along with the hormones making me even crazier than I am now) or the Novasure.

But I have been reading about all the lawsuits online with Novasure. ughhh

Any suggestions?

Mirena made my period go away for the most part. Had bleeding in the beginning but then they stopped. The hormone is negligible and is only cervical.

Just gotta say that despite being more "localized" in a way, Mirena's hormones can absolutely cause issues. I had it inserted in January and only kept it a few weeks. I'm not 100% sure what was from Mirena and what was from depression, etc., but I know Mirena worsened things for sure with mood and energy. I bled for 3 weeks+ straight on it, and I know that's supposed to be temporary and may've gone away, but it also caused worse cramps and lots of back pain for that time.

Anyway, I was actually just discussing Novasure with a friend today, and I'm kinda in the same boat with ya, unsure what to do. Good luck either way, and I hope things work out for you soon.
Thanks for this!

I've known three ladies that got the endometrial ablation(sic?). None of them seem to have any problems with it. Two of them had more pain after the procedure than they thought they would and had to miss a couple days of work. All three say it was definitely worth it.

Never heard of novasure but Essure is terrible. Plan on a hysterectomy if you go that route.

Mirena is causing many, many issues with women as well. Frankly, I'm aghast at the quality of women's choices being that it's year 2016 . . .

I'm in your boat too. I wanto get rid of my cycle.
OB suggests ablation or hysterectomy. Had 2 sisters get it done & 2 SIL's get it too. They all had success & no issues.
I think I'm leaning toward getting the ablation. OB said we're past the point for birth control. Yuck. Don't want that stuff.
So I'd rather get rid of my cycle then lose a week each month where I feel like crap.
