So, does anyone else have issues with dark and thick facial hair that grows really fast? I especially have this issue with upper lip hair, ugh! The sides are the worst as that's where the hair is super dark and thick.

I have to tweeze a lot of hair on my lips and at the side or else I'll be left with a black spot on my fair skin. It looks like I have a spot of pepper at the side if I end up shaving it. So I get it waxed sometimes too. I do shave what's in the middle usually and the sides and chin.

I also get light hairs and some thick ones on my chin. I get light hair growth on the sides. I have to use a magnified mirror everyday, it's crazy. And my brows grow back fast to, but never at the ends, ugh.

Sometimes I'll use hair remover cream. I'm just wondering if any other women on here have similar issues.

This is a really big issue for me too, especially once I hit menopause. I have heavy coarse black hairs along my jaw line, upper lip, chin, under my chin and on my neck.

Removal creams don't really work for me, and shaving, the hairs come back too quickly plus leaving the appearance of black dots.

I've found my best strategy is to pluck them out with the aid of a magnified mirror. I do it twice a day, morning and evening, and that seems to keep them under control.

I hate it.

In the new year, I'm going to look at my finances, and see if I can afford a Ultra pulsed light hair removal machine. From what I understand it's similar to laser, but less expensive and the hair removal isn't permanent, it just allows you to go a lot longer before the hair grows back.

Sorry to hear that. Having to deal with excessive facial hair sucks! I wish that I could afford to get my hair lasered off or something like that. Good lick with that. I hope that it helps you get rid of everything that you don't want there.

Maybe I should get threading done to see if that works. How much does it cost? How much did laser surgery cost? How many treatments did you get?

Sorry to hear that it didn't work out. Was it painful? I thought that it works well from what I heard. I wish there was a painless and permanent way to get rid of hair permanently that's affordable as well.

I am in Canada so pricing may be different, it costs me $23 for threading, I was paying over $30. The laser treatments were a groupon thing, I forget how much it was but it was unlimited treatments (every 6 weeks) for a year. I am an ideal candidate for laser, fair skin/dark hair.

Over all the years some of the hair has not grown back - I no longer have sideburns which were really bad, mostly just my chin and upper lip now. I am also on the BCP which helps to keep my facial hair down.

I would first see a doctor to ensure my hormones are dancing around in harmony.

Next, I would consider lasering or sugaring. I use sugaring myself, and permanent hair removal is an investment, but I like being hair-free.

Its those darn hormones and as you age it gets worse. Now for me it got worse as I aged then kinda stopped. I just shave off the fuzz on my face and it does not grow back darker or courser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe that's it- Yeah, shaving does that, ugh! So I try to pluck as much as I can now and wax the rest usually.

Threading eyebrows (and if you need to, another area of the face) costs $12, tip included, and you only need to go once per month. The results will become visible after months of treatment, and you will be pleased with them. I much recommend it. It is the best grooming habit I have ever developed. I remember to schedule it on the 1st of each month, or you can set a reminded in your calendar. It does not hurt - you feel it, but not to the point of pain.

Laser costs thousands of dollars and requires many treatments. Also, effective laser for dark skin has not been invented yet - modern lasers work well on dark hair and light skin contrasts.

Mine got totally out of control during perimenapause. So I got electrolysis.

I tried the laser and it didn't work for me. The electrolysis lady told me they don't know why but it doesn't seem to work on the face. So far my electrolysis is working.

I do some plucking and occasionally shaving. I have the great combination of dark hair and fair skin, so it's really obvious... My skin is too sensitive for hair removal creams or bleaching. I'd be a great candidate for laser removal, but that's not exactly in the budget right now...
