Agree with everyone else. A calorie - is a calorie- is a calorie. Doesn't matter where it comes from. You can actually improve your cholesterol by eating healthy, yet gain weight.

1. Stevia is low-carb, certainly when compared to sugar. Not to mention there have been some studies suggesting it can aid with blood pressure and even has anti-inflammatory properties. It's practically the opposite of sugar in terms of health effects, while still giving similar sweet taste. So it's not really that empty a substance. 2. Modern fruit might contain fiber, but is LOADED with sugar (thus carbs). The fact that it's "natural", glucose-fructose sugar doesn't matter, it will still cause inflammation and be processed by the body like white candy sugar. I say "modern" because people basically domesticated and selectively bred these plants to be as much as eight times larger and sweeter than their ancestors. If I can find that "what fruit used to look like" infographic I'll link it, or you can look for it yourself (sorry, I'm lazy). Berries are pretty much acceptable, but stuff like apples, oranges, or bananas? Truly "nature's candy" according to dieticians. Pretty much any nutrient you can get from fruit, you can get from vegetables or, at worst, supplements. Fruit isn't necessary, though it is tasty. |

All I can say is I'm naturally slim and I eat everything in moderation - one thing I don't do is eat convenience foods. If you cook for yourself you know what you're eating.
I eat loads of fruit btw. |

Hi everyone, I know all of this. Eating to much fruit isn't good as it has carbs and sugar in it. I try to limit myself to two servings a day. I try to eat healthy and eat at home most of the time. It's a struggle though as I love carbs. And I always drinks lots of water. I also know a calorie is a calorie and overeating anything isn't good.
