Hi. It's been over two weeks since I first had sex with a guy I have been seeing. I took the morning after pill less than 3 days after just in case as he withdrew before orgasm but some semen could have leaked out before that. The morning after pill doesn't always work. I have had sex with him again since then twice anally and once in the vagina and again he withdrew but we only had vaginal intercourse less than a week ago. I started taking the Pill on Friday and did not wait until my period to do so.
Today I have had a painful stomach and felt sick for much of the day. I never feel sick. I have read these are symptoms of early pregnancy. But I wondered if when Microgynon - the Pill - is taken before your period could that have caused it? I would be grateful for any help as I am on medication and don't want to harm any baby I may be carrying. I know I have been careless so I would appreciate no telling offs as I will get enough of them in my own life and am well aware it was stupid. However I would rather know if I was harming a baby I had inside me. I am also taking the Pill so it could be harming them too. Thanks for your help. ![]() |

Take a pregnancy test and then go from there based on the results.

Birth control pills can have many side effects. I have never taken the pill you are on but I can say, from experience, that the first BCP I was on made me sick. I now take low hormone pills.
Definitely take a pregnancy test as that is the only real way to determine pregnancy. You should get with your doctor as well and discuss the side effects associated with any pill you plan on taking to avoid confusion like this in the future! Always follow the directions on them! ![]() |
