Ladies, I need your opinion on some alarming symptoms I'm displaying.

Firstly, when I went to the bathroom a while back, I had noticed streaks of blood on the toilet paper after I wiped. Then, when I went again, just now, I had noticed a painful burning sensation when I urinated. The area around the opening to my urethra feels raw, painful and inflamed. My lower abdomen is also feeling quite noticeably uncomfortable. It aches somewhat.

Are these signs of an UTI or Urethritis?

I am planning a trip to Urgent Care as soon as it opens in the morning.

Well, I am positive for a UTI. They prescribed me an antibiotic and pain med. I'm going to get them on the way home.

Sorry you have a UTI. Yuck, those are miserable to have.

The first time I had one and took medication for it,nobody told me it would turn my urine brown.Scared the crap out of me.

Hope you feel better soon.

Yeah, the physicians assistant who saw me was kind enough to warn me of that.

I get UTIs very easily. If you can get real cranberry juice (not the coctail but actual pure cranberry juice) and drink as much of that as you physically can along with tons of water (mix the two if the juice is too bitter for you) it'll help it clear up quicker.

When i feel like im sitting on a football!

There are also cranberry chews, like the calcium chews? They are at the drugstore by the tampons and stuff, not the vitamins and supplements.

There's also capsules with cranberry powder in them if you prefer that.

I hope you feel better soon.

Cranberry pills have helped me in the past. Cystex has some snazzy antibacterial/mild painkiller combo that I take when I do something that increases the risk of getting a UTI which seems to help so far as prevention. (The painkiller doesn't really work. At least not as much as AZO/Pyridine.) It's useful to stockpile these things because having one UTI increases the risk of contracting more at a later date, and it sucks to wait around for a doctor.

That said, if you have symptoms such as blood in urine again, that definitely requires medical attention. Don't try to throw home cures at it when it's that bad.

Uggg......it happened again. This time, I think, there is more blood than last time. My mother is gone off to house sit for the week, leaving me at home with just my dad. I am going to have to ask my father to bring me to the Urgent Care (first thing in the AM) this time and it's going to be as awkward as hell to explain.

Just say lady problems. Single ladies are allowed to have them too! And it usually shuts men right up.

Lol. Claiming lady problems usually backs down men. But I'm curious... why do you have to explain?
