I just got a prescription for Ritalin to take in the morning to try and wake myself up with. I still have to get it filled. I'll let you know if it helps.

I think it's common for depressed persons to have a particularly hard time in the morning. I sure do. I find that - as the morning goes, so goes the day. I used to set up a breakfast tray the night before. I'ld put a pretty tea cup on it . . . maybe a single small flower in a little vase . . . maybe an interesting magazine. I'ld try to have breakfast food on hand that I really liked, such as fresh blueberries to mix in with my Special K.

It's hard to pamper myself anymore because I am now a caregiver.

You have my complete sympathy. It can put your job in jeopardy. When I worked, hitting the shower first thing used to help. Also, I always put my alarm clock over where I couldn't reach it from the bed.

I hope you can find some tricks that help. Pass on anything that works for you.

This is interesting, thank you. I sometimes feel “hopeless” as I can no longer tolerate the (often recommended) medication (for severe depression and anxiety etc)
