Friends,

I have a gross boil on my right breast. I went to the ER room Thursday night, and they gave me medication. If it doesn't heal up by Monday, I will go to the doctor's office to have in lanced. Yuck!

I think my body is complaining about my making it work too hard this semester, with an extra class. It has "sent" the boil to me as spokesperson.

Has anyone else struggled with one of these?

I too am surprised that they didn't lance it when you went into the ER, what was the point of making you wait to see another doctor?

My husband gets them sometimes on his upper/inner "thigh" from sweat and the friction of walking/his underwear. Could it be yours is related to sweating and your bra action?

AAAA,

The doctor yesterday said that lancing can lead to scarring, which can cause the boil to reform again later.

yeah, if it doesn't heal, get it lanced. i'm sure the meds will help, so you should be able to notice the difference. one thing about lancing, make sure that it's cleaned and bandaged. really. keeping a boil as is would probably lead to a bigger one, which you won't want that. cysts are like that (they're like a giant zit that won't go away and grows bigger).
