my left eye looks normal...it has always looked normal...but when i am extremely tired or i am trying to concentrate on one object you will see my eye drift...yes ...my left eye can be...lazy...and its annoying as all get out....and what i hate most is when im tired (like right now) and im alone i let it float away and it feels good...i dont want it too stick like that....and if i keep it there and not let it float it waters up and starts to hurt....when i was a kid i had the problem to and the eye doctor made me wear a patch at night over my right eye until i was so embarressed i couldnt take it...even in my own bedroom....this sucks...but the upside is freaking people out with it...lol....but still...it sucks. I just dont want it going all the way...double vision is not my cup of tea. sorry..just ranting...

My right eye always goes astray and I especially see it in pictures. I lost the vision in it so now it doesn't seem to know it exists. Its truly annoying.

Oh for sure ((( Inny ))).

I try not to be too self-conscious of it. My friend didn't even notice it till I pointed it out in a picture. I'm sure aware of it though!

ok I have to jump in here...

first of all, this may sound unusual but I have ALWAYS thought that a lazy eye is REALLY sexy!!!!

My first husband is from Italy, and we were on the subject one day, and he told me that it's a common perception in Italy. In fact, the term for it is 'Aphrodite Eye'!!!!

Hope that's a good deal of consolation for you both!

Ah, ye olde strabismus/exotropia :-) Have you seen a doctor recently/since your childhood one? They might have more tricks to work with it now?

I was poked in my right eye when I was born and have nerve damage so my right eye has a mind of its own. When I am tired I can feel it wander but other than that I don't notice it. I wear glasses to take the stress off my left eye; my right eye doesn't focus I just use it for peripherial version.

My son who is ten has the same problem, we took him to the hospital and they said there are two ways to deal with his eye, one is if it gets bad then surgery ( we really didnt want this) or two he can do it himself, he has to concentrate and make his eye straight ! after a while it will become a habit and he will be fine, so we taught him how to do it and now only if he is really tired or forgets then it will wander back and we all shout JOSH YOUR EYE CONCENTRATE ! He laughs and concentrates again......

lmo, are you serious??? lazy eye is sexy in italy? interesting.

i was born blind in my left eye. my left eye tends to wander at times. mostly, it rolls upward toward my head. it can look really weird. it has freaked out a couple of people who saw it. hope i don't freak out kids. lol. i had a lot of surgery in my left eye when i was a baby, but they didn't really work, as they kept creating scar tissues in my eyeball.

you're not alone in having a lazy eye.

well, at least that's what my ex said. He didn't have a reason to lie to me, because I don't have one (but I do think they're sexy for some reason).

Actually, I have 20/40 vision in my left eye, and something like 20/400 in my right. When I was 10, my eye doctor told me that I would have a lazy eye if I didn't keep my glasses ON (I hated my glasses) because the muscles in my right eye would weaken without use. If I wake up in the morning and never put my glasses on, then I still would be able to see just fine (with no depth perception though) because my right eye kind of turns off. But, they said it was a bad thing to do so I still wear the glasses. I've looked into the laser eye surgery but I keep chickening out and my husband is dead-set against me getting it. He likes glasses, though.

God, it's all about ME these days, isn't it? Well, continuing to send you guys support!

My friend got Lasik and its reversing. They say it doesn't reverse, but it sure is for her!

So I definitely understand your weariness. She pain a ton of money for a procedure that didn't even last a few years. She's getting ready to go back to glasses.
