My nails aren't incredibly long, but they're all one length and a nice length at that. I'm going to my boyfriend's company Christmas part on December 7th and really want them all to stay long until then!!

My left thumb nail got a rip in it right down by my finger. I've got polish on, but I took my file and smoothed out the rip and then put more polish over it and then a top coat. I've got these little decorative decals for nails, so I'm gonna put one of them over the rip.

Does anyone else have any ideas for how to save it? I don't have any nail glue or anything. This seems to be working for now. Its just gotta last until after December 7.

Yeah don't have any of that either. I think what I did might just work.....as long as the decal doesn't get ripped off haha. I did the same on the other thumb so it looks on purpose hahha!!

If it wasn't a deep rip, buffing may have helped but I can't imagine a rip holding until December 7!! Perhaps you should go out and buy some nail glue in the next few days.

Also, keep your hands out of water as much as possible. I have very soft nails and try to wear rubber gloves when washing dishes - my downfall on keeping my nails long especially since I seem to be washing dishes ALL day long!

Good luck!

How about keeping a bandaid on your finger to protect the nail until after the party?

Well I made it!!!!! I ended up getting brush on nail glue and it held wonderfully. I managed to give myself a really difficult manicure for tonight's party. Sparkly red tips with jewels....I'm really pleased with how they came out and they look great with my dress!!! Fixing a broken nail
