Ps. if you do go some time, feel free to wear a bra under the gown if you prefer...it's just my preference not to for comfort. Also, my doc said if I ever wanted I could wear some yoga pants and a tank or t-shirt instead of the gown if I wanted to me more covered up. There are no fixed rules. He just asks me to uncover a small area on my abdomen for a few needles on days I need them there. He can't see my underwear or anything. Feels very safe. One day I was very nauseous so instead of lying on the table as I usually do, he had me sit in a chair and did the needles that way. And of course the nausea stopped within about 3 minutes!! I swear sometimes those needles feel like magic. But there's a lot to Traditional Chinese Medicine...I just don't have the training or the Chinese language to understand it all...their body terms are very different than those of MDs. |

Thanks SilverTrees! I really appreciate you sharing your experiences, and it's definitely on my list to look into now - it might take me a bit to get to it (I'm overwhelmed with stuff here right now, including replacing the dishwasher, the car, trying to do neurofeedback on my own, and looking for a new therapist - *cry*!) But I will definitely add it to the list.
Thankfully, the period is done! Finally. But now I'm scared of the next one... reading everyone's stories about peri-menopause and periods once you hit the mid-40s, omg. I feel like the period-monster can leap back out of the shadows any day, any time! I'm really grateful for a place to talk about it though, thank you! |

Sorry if anyone has suggested this, I haven't read some of the replies.
My daughter suffered terribly with her periods (she is now 21) and also had autism so pain to her was total agony. anyway it was suggested that she goes on the mini pill and I can honestly say they have been fantastic, she now has a period about once a year. I also had to go on it as my periods were out of control and I have a fibroid so my doctor also recommended that I take it, I haven't had a period for 18 months and it's amazing. |
