I heard somewhere that drinking raspberry tea helps calm menstrual cramps. For me this is true but it depends on the timing that I drink it. I haven't tried this "remedy" in a while, and usually just take 2 ibuprofin pills when I get cramps. And some people get them so bad that they have to take bc pills and ibuprofin doesn't work.. So I have no idea if it'd work for them. that's not me.

Yesterday I drank a huge mug of red raspberry tea and this morning I got my period and the cramps were so mild I didn't have to take any other kind of pain killer. It was pretty cool.

I never knew raspberry tea could help period cramps. I will have to try it sometime.

Yes, it's an old remedy.

You mentioned timing... what is the optimal time for the tea?

I have really awful cramps. On my worst day, I take 4 ibuprofen, morning, afternoon, and night (I would take more, but my doctor told me no more than that!) and extra strength Tylenol in-between those, and still have pain. It sucks!

And, I have to be careful timing the ibuprofen... like I need to make sure to take it as close to bed as possible in the evening, because it wears out in the middle of the night, and I wake up in pain!

Thanks!

@guilloche , I drank it the day before I got my period. Sometimes my period is hard to pinpoint, but I do generally know when it will come.

I'm sorry you have such terrible cramps!
Thanks for this!

Thanks WovenGalaxy... Thanks, that makes sense (but yeah, it can be hard to predict the correct day!)

I'm going to see if I can pick up some raspberry tea when I'm at the grocery store later tonight or tomorrow. Thank you!
