Hi, I recently turned 50 & my periods are getting to ne more unpredictable. I have ovarian cysts & PCOS. A few months ago I didn’t get my period for 3 months. I took a pregnancy test to see if I was pregnant & thankfully the results were negative.
I recently had an issue with spotting which made me think that I was starting my period early. It lasted for one day. I didn’t get it this month yet. I usually get it at around the 15th-25 th of the month. I’m not on birth control. I used it once & I got stuck with having extremely heavy bleeding fir 10 months strsight! It was hell! The birth control pills messed up my system! I almost thought I needed a hysterectomy! At what age do periods usually stop for good? I know that a woman isn’t officially in menopause until there are no periods for a year. When did menopause start for dome of you? What are the main signs of it? |

I’m not yet 40 and have been told I’m on my way to menopause. My periods are irregular, 11 months between, 9 months. Years before it was 2-3 months then it got more. Hot flashes and less heat tolerance. Weight gain around belly. Insomnia. I’m sure I am forgetting something.
Makes me feel lost and alone just seems young and out of place. But what do I know? |

I completed menopause when I was 54 (I'm 59 now). The main problem I experienced were hot flashes. Ugh. But I do believe they were exacerbated by psych meds that cause overheating.

Sorry for the slow response. Thanks to everyone who replied back. I’m sweating now when it’s cold out sometimes, weird! Has this happened to anyone else?

Oh, absolutely. Hot flashes and/or the body's inability to regulate temperature went on for me for years...probably at least eight years. __________________ |
