What do you all use for facial hair? What works best?

I get a bit of a 'mustache' of coarse, black hairs. I also get teeny little hairs along my chin (yeah, I know...just like the 3 little pigs story...'not by the hair on my chinny-chin-chin)

Shaving doesn't work because it just comes back faster and looks even worse.

I usually end up just plucking with tweezers....but that takes forever, and it hurts.

I've tried the little wax strips (peel & stick) and they kinda work, but don't always get all the hair.

Suggestions??

Eventually I would love laser hair removal but can't afford it now.

go to a salon and have them wax it - it is thorough and usually doesn't cost more than $5

i hate my "unwanted hair".. and i could not afford to go to wax it off.. i would be in there everyday.. i have to pluck my face at least every other day if not daily.
it started when i was about 22 and now im 39.. it stops me from going away for camping trips.. ive tried everything.. (that i could afford) and plucking myself is the best ive came up with..

I agree! Salon waxing is the way to go. I have never found Nair very helpful. If you are not too prone to ingrown hairs, there is also an amazing machine called the Epilator. It looks like a razor, but it yanks out several hairs simlutaneously. Just like professional waxing in your own home.

I go to an electrologist. It is a lot cheaper, and you can get numbing cream from your doctor before you go, because it is painful. After a few treatments, the hair is gone for good. I would like the laser removal, too but it is too expensive for my pockets.

I have the same exact thing!

Have you tried Sally Hansen's Face Creme Hair Remover? That's what I use and it seems to work pretty good. But if I'm in a hurry I shave it and then mentally remind myself to use the creme hair remover at a later time.

My doctor said it's hirsutism (excessive hairiness in women).

I've tried all the creams - Nair, Sally Hansen...they don't work very well for me. They might remove some of it but not all of it and they really irritate my skin - and on the face...you notice. Gets all red. Speaking of unwanted hair...

Yeah, I get the same thing, too... The first time I used the cream it worked great but it seems to work less every time I use it. It really sucks...and then there's that intense sensitivity!!!

I pluck... I dont have enough pesky hairs yet to bother with waxing but I sure will when it gets to that point... Up here there seems to be a common issue with bearded ladies and it is just aweful! Honestly if i have to I would rather get a skin graff from my arse on my chin then to have a constant 5 oclock shadow like some of these Northern women!!!

I know you said you couldn't do laser treatment right now, but I just got back from my 2nd ever laser appointment so I hope you don't mind my posting here. I agree it is expensive, so I was nervous at first because everyone will tell you you'll need 6-8 treatments and at $100+ per area per treatment that can add up fast! But, I noticed improvement after the first time and pretty sure I won't need that many. Anyway, if you wanted you could consider just doing 1 or 2 laser treatments because it will cut down on the hair and you'd need to wax or pluck less.
