Hi folks,
I'd like to introduce this thread as a spot to post your favorite resources regarding female issues. Anything you have found of value may be posted here via links to the sites, or by posting the names of books for example. Feel free to leave a personal review, or simply post the link or info for others to view. I'd like to take a moment to remind everyone that these resources will be coming from all of us, so what works for one may not work for another. I suggest you take what you like out of it and what you don't discard and move on to the next resource. I hope we see lots of resources! |

This is a list of different women's related pages, or pages relating to womens issues. Many sites link from this that may be of interest. Of course, as always, review the sites with the thought that these are internet sites so use your judgement. I thought it might be of interest to some of you though!

Planned Parenthood - here they see and treat anyone 16 years of age or older, they dont need parental permission, nor do they notify parents if someone between 16-18 comes to them unless the person is in danger from ongoing abuse or suicide. Services they provide - physicals, birth control, therapy, referals to other community services if needed.

http://www.hystersisters.com It's a site dedicated to those dealing with feminine diseases and disorders. Lots of helpful information, support, and links are there.

I'm a woman with heart disease, and this organization has been a great support to me: http://www.womenheart.org/
Heart disease is the leading cause of death of American women. More than 200,000 women die each year from heart attacks- five times as many women as breast cancer. |

When I was a much younger person, it was nearly impossible for me to counsel any woman to leave her husband. I'm much older --and thankfully wiser-- now.
Planning is imperative. Often, just having the plans in place make the situation less strained, and sometimes gives the woman power to cause change in the relationship. You can't change another human being, but you can make them want to change sometimes. I'd like to say directly that safety is key. Always have an emergency plan, some safe place to go the instant you need to get away from harm. If you can take some time, set yourself up financially as best you can ahead of time (yes, even someone who is poor can manage some things that will benefit her). He probably already has you confined and without support or friends; you need to have some (secret) things to rely upon... http://www.womansdivorce.com/leaving...e-husband.html
