Hello Ladies
![]() I'm in a college program that is 99% female. In classes, I feel on edge, like my body/mind are vibrating due to the stress of being in a room full of women, I feel inferior to most of them, constantly comparing myself to them...just feel simply and profoundly uncomfortable being surrounded by so many women. How do I remain grounded or CALM in class? I feel like I'm losing my mind when I am in a room full of women. ![]() Zen888 ![]() |

I don't mean to sound humorous or sarcastic but this is what I would be doing

I took a class in U.S. Womens History a couple years ago in college and kind of know what you mean. I'd work on concentrating on the material instead of all the people around you? Presumably you are in that class for your purposes and what you want to learn? Literally ignore the other people or try to get to know one or two before/after class so they don't all seem like strangers? Too, it's the beginning of the semester, it will probably get a bit better?
The other women are probably thinking about themselves/the material such that they won't particularly notice you (so whether you feel calm or not won't be noted, pretend you feel too hot or cold, it can probably be lived through :-) unless you jump up and start screaming? LOL

I think... Perna... has a very good idea....
a mantra: "I am here because I want this class - I am here to listen to the material - focus" ....... "everything else is unimportant".... that might help you get thru....this class... And... I am very uncomfortable in large groups of women too - because I always worked with men so am comfortable around them...kinda know what to expect... |
