This is kinda of a silly and gross question.

Why do we have hair between our bum cheeks? Or am I just a hairy ape?

Can you plait it or put it in a pigtail?

I know hair in the genital area is there to catch germs that might try to invade our body and to cut down on odor.... so maybe hair in and around the buttock area does the same, but most probably the hair is just there from after growth of the pubic area.

Many MEN are hairy to very hairy in this area.... so I guess it wont hurt us women to have a few hairs here and there.

plus it helps to stop any chafing, but yea our hair helps protect our most vulnerable parts of our body parts.

Or maybe it's all a part of our growing from millions of years ago (did we live than? haha) from evolution....do we use this; tail bone? Wisdom Teeth?, Tonsils?

Cut down on odor??? Hair retains odor!! Like in your armpits! If you let your hair grow in your armpits, you stink worse! eewwww Actually, it's to catch your dingleberries.

Well..my mommy is in her 50's and she told me that she is BALD! A little too much knowledge, but I am happy that it might happen, since I get Brazillians now to get rid of everything down there, chafing or not.

If you look up pubic hair online you will find any one of these four reasons:

visual indicator of sexual maturity
collection of secreted pheromones
reduction of external friction during sexual intercourse
warmth (may be a side effect)

And - as you can see many of us ladies have mentioned these things.

yes i have saluki

I don't want to wax either. The thought of having another woman that close to my private parts with hot wax bothers me.

ROFL!! I'm thinning, too. It could be that it's because we don't run and jump and and swing our arms ... and other things like we did when we were young. I only shave my armpits about once a month now and if it wasn't for the few strays, I wouldn't do it that often! I pluck the two or three on my legs now... with my fingers. It's amazing how easily they come out... especially when they're grey.

LOL LOL hehehe

Sunrise...to answer your question......no! The only people that get to see my privates parts down under is my family doctor for my yearly physical and if I had a boyfriend....and me of course.

Once when I was getting my eyebrows and lip wax done this Russian lady who was doing it asked me if I would like to have a bikini wax done as well. I was like OMG!

Ok this is what the experts say -

It's perfectly normal for both girls and guys to have hair in their "butt-crack" - the area around the an*s and between the cheeks of the buttocks. In fact, most people have hair in this area. When girls go through puberty pubic hair grows around their genitals — over the pubic bone and around the vulva and an*s.

There you have it - its there from over growth.
