Hi, All Over 50's!

I was thinking it might be neat (or mint, if you are over 50) to have a night out.

For all over 50's (or over-50's-wanta-be's, lol) to meet in a chat room for an "Over 50's Get-Together!" for a one time deal. (Could be more than one time. We could try different times.) No leader, just for fun. We can have a theme party, serious or semi serious or just coffee!
Anyone have another idea or how is this idea?

Ice

Hey Ice!
Great Idea...lets round 'em up and have some fun.

(p.s. would we have to wear bras to the chat or is it going to be really casual?)

I am 59 and proud of it!! I am in good health, and love to do most of the things that everyone else does. I walk, garden, can, help take care of my parents, babysit for grandkids, make love with hubby, love my horses, reading, have my church and my church family. The thing that is different about being older, is that we have been there and done that, and can serve by helping others with life's problems.

Hmmm...the last time I roared I was arrested for disturbing the peace
Orlando of "Pirates" fame will cause unladylike sounds to leave my mouth.
Strange, too, because I love bald men with ramrod straight posture.

The Vaseline people asked me to please not wear my bra 'cause it keeps them profitable...it prevents boob burn.

Optional bras? I could only wish for an optimal bra that doesn't pinch or make me feel that I'm wearing a full metal jacket.

I guess I should be glad that corsets and girdles are a thing of the past (or are they)? I remember wearing a girdle and garters with hose in sixth grade for a dance...noooooo.....

Of course, they were nothing compared to my later fashion preferences of vinyl mini-skirts, go-go boots and fishnet stockings...
Thanks for this!

I'm over 50. Like you have problems relating women in their 20's. Let's face it we have many other issues facing our lives. Because I'm over 50 I feel that I must make the best that I can of my life and not waste my (which I did in my 20's). I imagine other women in there 50's and beyond feel the same way. Anyway there are other women over 50 besides you.

I think that might be:

"Bra, Optional". How's that for the name of the Over 50's Women's Group, not sure what the men's would be! Or, how about, "The ABCDE(?) Droopers", "No More Armour", "Vinyl Skirts Revisited"?....hmmm...let's see...the...

I am going to make the most out of the rest of my life. My Mom and Dad have fought forever, and are not enjoying their retirement years at all. I am going to enjoy every day that I can. I am already crazy, so I just want to enjoy life!!

Ice, I'm having the same experience as you. My 50's are much different than my 40's. I feel so much older! My KNEES HURT and I love to work outside in the yard.

In my 40's I still felt this pressure to look young, not look too old, etc. But turning 50 has been freeing. I'm old and it's okay to look my age. I eat what I want when I want, I've gained a few pounds but that's alright too!

My 40's were a more busy time, turning 50 and beyond I am aware much more often that I have more time behind me than ahead of me. That makes me more introspective, more aware of my feelings of wanting closure in certain relationships and areas of my life.

It also has me thinking of just how I want to spend the lesser time I have left. It's time to enjoy life a bit more, isn't it? That's what I find myself thinking and feeling. I'm more selfish. And I like it!!! And I'm finally through the hot flashes and all done with menopause. So add me to the list of 50+ women.

But keep it to yourself please, don't tell me.
And let's all respect each other's feelings.
With kindness, support and "sweet dreamings."
Thanks for this!

The special social club for women that I started for us is still going

It is for ladies over 50. I named it :
"Ladies Age 50 and Better"

Please come over and check it out. I'd love for you to join.

We can plan a meeting at a certain time and day to chat about what every anyone wants to chat on

What is best for you all?

Heygimm (means: Hey God, it's me Margaret) from Judy Blume's early book

But my real name is Vicki, I just always loved that kids book when she was exploring God.
Thanks for this!
