Every time I start Zoloft it causes alot of vaginal fluid. I am embarrassed to even mention it on here but I don't know who to even ask. But it's not like nasty or colored it's just clear fluids. I have never had a yeast infection or anything. I'm not even irritated down there. So I don't know what it is. I'm too embarrassed to ask my doctor (my doc is a male). Does ant other ladies have that?

Thunderbear,
Don't be embarrassed to ask your physician anything...I sometimes feel awkward but we still need to let them know about these things.

That said...
do you need to use a liner or pad?
this sounds strange, but is your nose runny? a bit like the clear fluids...not runny from a cold, etc..
On occasion, meds can cause a thinning of female secretions.
Years ago plain old Robitussin was used in treating infertility. It thinned secretions enough to allow sperm to penetrate a woman's too thick secretions...

Are you having any other symptoms? You said no irritation, and I'm glad for you!
Urinary problems?

I don't need to use a liner or pad it's not that heavy. I don't have a runny nose or urinary problems. Every thing is fine in that department other that the fluids.

Thunderbear, I'm glad everything else is all right!
Thanks for letting me know...

Would you feel comfortable talking with his nurse? She can relay the message and call you back.
Just had a thought--is it just when you start the Zoloft then it goes away the longer you are on it?

Some sexually transmitted infections can cause an excess amount of clear fluid, so definitely get that checked out, I think clamydia can cause that anyways.

Also, do you find yourself more aroused since starting the Zoloft? I certainly do, so if you're more aroused, then that might be the issue and it doesn't have to be sexual arousal to cause that response, anxiety can also cause women to "get wet" and men to get erections.

I don't have any std's I've been married for 8 years lol but yeah I do actually notice that I am more aroused when I take zoloft. Which from what I hear it's supposed to be the exact opposite.

I definitely am not more aroused by Zoloft, but as for the vaginal clear thin discharge I know exactly what you're talking about. Ha, I never even thought of it connecting to meds since it happened quite a while after I started Zoloft. It got so bad I got an exam because I was having to use pantyliners daily...ugh. Thankfully the doctor said they couldn't find anything wrong (and it was a specialist I was sent to by my family doctor). Over time it has lessened but it seems pretty sporadic. I've had a yeast infection once and it's definitely nothing like that. It's just clear and thin, sometimes a yellowish tinge, but no odor or anything. You still should see your doctor about this since discharge can be caused by many things, but at least you arn't alone. Hopefully it will lessen on its own, or the doctor will be able to help. Let us know how the visit goes.
