Friends,

I haven't been on PC very much lately, between my part-time teaching job and taking care of my husband.

Anyway this forum is new to me, and what a great one to have at this time in our economy.

There is nothing funny about losing your job. I lost my nice corporate job in March 2002. I tried several different positions -- none of which were good jobs or a good match, and I wound up leaving. Four and a half years ago I tried teaching at the college level at a community college. Financially, it is pennies by the time you divide what I am paid by the number of hours I put in, but it keeps me mentally stimulated.

Anyway I just found this excerpt on the Crystal Cathedral website, which gave me a chuckle. I hope it gives someone a chuckle here as well. It is not a real letter.

"Dear Sheila: My first job was working in an orange juice factory but I got canned. I couldn't concentrate. Then I worked in the woods as a lumberjack, but I just couldn't hack it so they gave me the axe. After that, I tried to be a tailor but I just wasn't suited for it. Maybe because it was just a sew-sew job. My last job was working at Starbuck's, but I had to quit because it was always the same old grind. So Sheila, can you pray that God will help me find the perfect job?" Signed, "Searching."

Wishing all of you success in finding a job to see you through ~

EJ

Thanks for this!
