Got my first evaluation the other night. Got a 2.75 out of a possible 5, which my immediate supervisor said "is actually a pretty good review." (!!!!Really?)
No raise, still at minimum wage. Listed about 9 ways in which I am inadequate, inefficient, and undesirable, then said it wasn't that bad of a review and set my main goal as "develop more confidence". LOL!!!!! It's funny but it isn't. I have two college degrees and 30 years of work experience and my part-time minimum wage jobs gives me a C-. Aarrrggh. ![]() |

And the thing is, I'm NOT the most cracker jack cashier on planet earth, but their expectations are kind of insane IMO.
My immediate supervisor likes me because I always show up and do my best, and I fill in when others flake out. No points for that on the review though. |

Dependability was not on the review??!

Nope.
It was added as a comment, but you don't get any points for it. All along they've kind of been like, "We wish you were totally different but you show up and we need live bodies...but we wish you were totally different." I like the job OK, but I hate knowing I'm some kind of 'mercy hire'. |

I hope I can find something where I fit better and feel more appreciated. I'm still applying for other jobs but it's really rough here. (Michigan)

This is so unfair!
Please keep looking for better opportunities and I hope you will find something. Keep the faith!
