So I started on the bookkeeping for the bakery I'm working at and it's a mess. I got the Quickbooks files from the guy that was doing it and there is so much missing. It was supposed to be done up until Feb, but January was missing a lot of info. So was 2011 for that matter, but I'm not going back and doing it b/c i don't have the info.
I have until Thursday to complete this and I have no idea how I"m going to do it. |

Bad situation, for sure! I think I would try to get as much as possible processed in QuickBooks but at the same time I would prepare a list of missing items, documentation or other issues...and hand it all over to the supervisor or whoever is in charge on Thursday.

Oh, I had that problem with a job and ended up quitting a week or two later, after I got the petty cash balanced and found it wasn't! The owner was paying people in cash out of the cash box and there were no records, anyone/everyone was allowed in the petty cash box and supposed to just leave a note on the honor system, etc. It was a mess and I was feeling way over my head and like it bordered on the illegal (and he also expected me to go to the store and buy the coffee supplies, etc., like a good little Girl Friday).

So, it's monday and i still don't have them done. Turns out I was using the wrong file....duh. I'm done through may though, and I finally got all the missing checks from my boss, so I plan on finishing up tomorrow.
