Well my dreams have come true got an interview coming up next week. However it been ages since I last worked or even had an interview, so I am extremely nervous and scared about this. Also I was worried about posting this in case someone realizes it is me from here going to that interview.. tiny bit of paranoia going on here, so not going to comment on what the job about or anything.

However any tips on how to be successful in an interview. Or ways of cope with having extreme anxiety and not letting this show through in an interview, is all very much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, congratulations on an interview! Best wishes to you. Depending on the type of job it is, you may want to be upfront about being nervous. It shows honesty. If possible, take notes during the interview to help you stay focused. I have written the word "breathe" on my note sheet to help me remember to relax. I also like to make sure I arrive with plenty of time and I bring something to help me relax if I arrive early (relaxing music for example).

Best of luck on your interview!

Congratulations!!!!
I like what the others above have posted. Many times they will ask if you have any questions. It would be good to show your interest if you can have a prepared question or two something about what the company or job that you could not find in researching it (not about pay or benefits, but the company/job itself) or what do they consider a successful candidate to be, etc.

Dress the part of the position you are looking or business attire for as they can then they can see you better in the role of what they are hiring you for and know you are serious, yet do smile once in awhile.

Deep breaths and Wishing you the very best of luck!!!!

How'd it go? Have you gone yet?

Since you haven't worked in a while they may ask you about the gap in employment. That can easily be covered by your taking care of an ill family member. I like to use positive words in the interview. Words like Absolutely, Excited, Great instead of Good. I like to use phrases like, "How are you this beautiful day?"

I hope it goes or went well. Let us know!
