Hi. I have tried to post this 2 other times. Please forgive me if this double posts.
I work 2 jobs to pay off my previous large debts, due to spending sprees and medical issues when I was on SSA (I have BP I). I got of SSA twice (my second time in November of 2011). I work in an office during the day and clean at night. I have had my day job 2 years and my night for 7. Here and there I have been sick due to being maxed out. I have had to call out due to pure exhaustion but also some mania and depressive issues. My last manic episode was in March, due to situational stresses and not the work. In March, due to me experiencing my manic episode, I was put in Seroquel. This is in addition to a 4 other drugs that usually work for me together in a specific cocktail. However, I needed something stronger. I was started on 50 mgs and now I am at 400 mgs. My issue is getting up in the morning. I can barely get out of bed. I have ADHD too so my pdoc and I thought it would be good to add a morning immediate release Adderall with my Wellbutrin and 20 mg XR Adderall. This helps but barely. I am losing motivation to keep up this routine. I work 7 days a week. My issue isn't necessarily the work schedule, but the effort it takes to get to work on time. Some days I have slept thru my alarm, at one point 2 hours. Yesterday I had to call out b/c I knew I couldn't get out o bed until the afternoon. I do not want to discontinue the Seroquel due to it's huge impact on me socially. I no longer feel painfully awkward. My friends and family appreciate me actually showing up to events they invite me to. My question is, do any of you work during the day and take Seroquel at night? I don't know how much longer I can do this, but I also don't know what else to do. I am on the verge of walking out some days due to people not understanding that sometimes just me making it to work is the best I can do. Any advice? Thanks! |

Try lowering the dose of Seroquel or find an at home job.

Is this Seroquel XR? just my opinion since I have had both the XR and regular Seroquel, the XR seemed to exhaust me to the point of trying to do anything was like walking through soup so to speak, I had an extremely hard time doing anything. I take Seroquel at night, and I think it has mostly left my system by the morning, making it easier to get up and function. Also, this is just my experience, since I have also been on both Adderall and Seroquel at the same time, I think that combination just doesn't mix well. One increases dopamine, and the other decreases it. Please discuss these problems with the prescribing doctor, because you obviously are getting help by the effects of the meds, but if you cant function at your job that will have a huge impact of your emotional well being. Best wishes, keep posting.

Kelly I am the same I use Seroquel XR and regular also. The XR seems to be more sedating but I sleep all day too, so who can tell. My neurololgist started me on nuvigil to help with the daytime sleepiness it seems to be helping.
