I had lunch with an old friend today, he's helping an educational not for profit restructure following a massive internal collapse. He says they need a designated accountant to prepare monthly financial statements and commentary for the board of directors. He says if I'm interested he'll recommend me. I'm probably going to go for it - that would make 2 clients that I'm freelancing for. It's not enough to totally support me, but it at least slows the drain on my savings, until I go back to school.

The stupid part is I can't post any of my freelance work on my Linked In profile, or my website, because if my society found out I was doing, it, they`d say I was consulting, and there`s a huge extra and expensive mandatory training and certification that you have to go through if you want to consult, that would more than wipe out the little bit I earn.

Congrats on the job offer. Yes, it's unfortunate you can't post about your free-lance work, but maybe word of mouth will be sufficent to build up your client base!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
